Description

The man that brought her doom is the only one who can save her. Moira McPherson is a unique woman; she has been the ruler of her clan for the past three years, something unheard of for a Highland lass. But now, like a tree in the way of a raging fire, Moira feels unable to stop what is coming... Her men love and respect her, but the pressure on her to marry and secure an heir for the next generation has become overwhelming. She has been avoiding a betroth in fear of her new husband sidelining her and possibly mistreating her people for his advantage. All that changes when she meets Tavin Stuart, a seasoned warrior that is stronger than most but humble as few men are. In his eyes, she finds a man worthy of being by her side. Nothing in the way he behaves gives away that this mysterious stranger is coming from a line of great chieftains and warriors that are now in decline... Yet, Tavin is secretly and ruthlessly working to restore his people's greatness, not caring for any of the consequences! When Moira finds out the truth about his past, she will lock away the only man that can help her save her clan from the annihilation that he unleashed upon them. "Highlander's Shadowy Warrior" is a standalone steamy story by best-selling author Ann Marie Scott, packed with betrayal, passion, and romance, set on the beautiful backdrop of the Scottish Highlands. • Tavin and Moira: Opposites Attract?
This improbable romance was a good listen. I enjoyed another of Ann Marie Scott’s books! Two people are faced with challenges, challenges of a different kind. Tavin Stuart, who is part of a clan that robs others of their valuables, does not like the life of stealing and harming travelers. He wants out but his da wants to keep his son, Tavin. The Stuart Clan is despised by other clans. Tavin, Graeme, and James carry out the orders of their father, Laird Stuart. The Laird has convinced his sons that the clan has been mistreated and taken advantage of by other clans; this is the justification for their robbing and stealing. The story begins with the Laird’s plot to physically take over the McPherson Clan’s Keep and other properties. Tavin’s job is to scout out the McPherson properties looking for weaknesses. Why was the McPherson Clan selected? The Laird of one year is Moira, a woman. Moira, has an assignment given to her by her clan’s elders: select a husband! A gathering is planned and clans invited for that purpose. In finalizing those preparations she encounters Tavin. Tavin is on a mission. He tells Moira he is associated with a different clan since the Stuart clan has such a terrible reputation. The two are smitten but Tavin agonizes over telling Moira who he really is and about the Stuart clan’s plans to depose her and the McPherson Clan. Not wanting to be a spoiler, I will not tell what happens regarding the Stuart Clan’s plans, the budding romance between Moira and Tavin, or the outcome of the attack on McPherson Keep and its village. I can tell you that Will, Moira’s righthand man and protector, learns of Moira and Tavin’s budding romance. He is angry enough to confront Tavin and throw Tavin in the dungeon! I wish I could tell you there’s a happy ending but things get dicey when Laird Stuart appears at McPherson, he and his boys supported by a rebel clan! I enjoyed the book. I could not put it down. I think you will like it. ... show more

  • Cute read
This was fun and had some good parts with Tavin and him starting out to set up the Mc Pherson clan so his family could attack and steal from them. Then he was to woo the clan laird Moria and she took over her clan when her da died and her clan was doing better for it. Tavin was sneaky and kept looking for their weaknesses. Then he meet Moria and kissed her and spent time with her and her clan and family and didn’t want to her as she was supposed to be picking a husband at the clan gathering. She was falling for Tavin but he keeps telling her that he wasn’t the man for her. Tavin has a change of heart ❤️ and turns on his family and he is in the dungeon after they find out that he’s a Stuart and they are called traitors. He realizes that he loves Moira and things get very sticky! ... show more

  • Need to keep storyline straight
I really enjoyed the first book in the series, but this one keeps mentioning the dad, instead of the brother, as the bad character in the first book. The dad died when the oldest sister, Fenella, was 10. Therefore, he wasn’t alive when book one started: Dearg had been the laird for eight years. Also, the aunt raised the girls until the dad died- there was absolutely no mention of the dad being awful, except for affairs and indifference towards his daughters. The brother emptied the family coffers, and didn’t take good care of the clan members. It was the brother she stole from and the brother the rebel group wanted to take down. This altered storyline makes me not want to read the rest of the book, as it’s distracting and irritating knowing that it didn’t happen that way, according to book one. I’ve noticed this in a lot of books by various authors these days here on Kindle. You can bet series such as Twilight and Harry Potter would never had made it if the respective authors couldn’t keep their characters, events, or stories straight. I’m really not sure why more have not pointed this blatant, and continuous, error out, but I feel the author needs to learn from this and ensure her subsequent books keep things straight. ... show more

  • nice read
This book started out great in the beginning prologue and beginning chapter, then it and the characters seemed to get lost and everything they did became repetitive. Moria heroine who was supposed to be strong and intelligent as clan leader lost herself and regained it in the last couple of chapters

Tavin and Moira. Moira is the laird for clan McPhearson. Tavin is the 3rd born of the Stuart clan that is known as traitors. When he finds out his da has bigger plans than he was told, he has to make a choice. Tell Moira the truth and risk losing her or support his da and brothers. ... show more
