Description

Charles Danner came to Oregon in 1936 to make durable, high-quality boots for Pacific Northwest loggers. Inspired by those first caulked logger boots, the Logger 917 is a modern reinterpretation of a heritage design. A nubuck leather upper features a classic moc toe. A waterproof and breathable Gore-Tex liner shrugs off rain, snow and monster puddles. The Vibram SPE midsole and Vibram 917 outsole offer long-lasting comfort and reliable grip no matter where you spend your days. This boot is built on a new great-fitting, ergonomic last. It's true to size and has added footbed allowance for stability and greater underfoot support. It's easy to wear and comfortable for use in a variety of casual environments. Combines our traditional stitchdown technique with cup sole construction that allows the boot to keep a wider platform while eliminating the need for a buffed sidewall. This gives our sneaker boots a modern aesthetic and lightweight, flexible finish.

Love them... no break in period, feels like a tennis shoe. Wasn't crazy about the leather tone so put some mink oil on them and absolutely loved how they turned out. Pix show one with mink oil and one without.

When I first put them on I thought they were too narrow and was going to return them. I’m so glad I decided to keep them, after only wearing them for one day they stretched enough to mold to my foot and fit perfectly. I highly recommend, very nice quality.     • Comfort from the start!

I bought these boots for a Christmas market trip to Germany. I wanted boots that could handle snow/slush, lots of walking and standing for long hours. I only was able to give them a short break-in period, a few trips to the store and back, before our trip. But despite the short break-in, these boots handled the trip with ease! I was on my feet 12+ hours a day for a couple weeks, walking on varying terrain (cobblestone!). I never experienced discomfort, wetness, or cold. I was worried they would be a bit too thin for cold weather. But I wore thick (or two thin) socks, and the temps were upper 20s to upper 30s F. No cold feet during the entirety of the trip! I knocked off one star for the rigidness of the ankle support. This might be where some break-in would help. There's not much cushioning around the ankle, so I found it would dig in slightly after a long day. Overall, I plan to wear the heck out of them in the winter (midwest-US, so snow and cold Oct - Apr). They're nice enough to not look out of place in a dress casual situation, where weather is a factor. I'd buy them again, and hope they hold up for years! ... show more

Went from Danner Bull Run to these. Very comfortable and light weight. Have worn these daily for 6 months with no issues. They look nice enough for the office but durable enough for the field.
