I wear an 11.5 wide boot. Most boots I've had in the past were ok, but there was a little squeeze in the toe and so they felt restrictive after a full day. I really set out this time to find a truly comfortable boot. These Danner's are the first boots where the toe box is not only wide enough but very comfortable. I wore them to a job for the first time and they felt more broken in and comfortable than any boot I have ever worn. I hadn't heard of Danner before, so I initially tried all the big names and while some of those were also good, the Danner right out of the box was the most comfortable. Comfortable boots, can wear all day even on a long day (over 10 hours) at work. They feel quite warm, good at present because it is winter on this side of the world and I work in an out of a chiller, not sure if they will be too warm in summer though. My previous boots were Timberland Pro Helix composite toe boots which rubbed the outside of my toes enough to cause a hard piece of skin, these are much better and my toes are thanking me for the new boots. I'd happily recommend these to anyone wanting good comfortable composite toe boots. Edit: 8 Months later (45-50 hours per week) and the soles are now wearing through in the heels, working in the rain my right boot got wet inside. I would prefer longer than that before losing confidence in the waterproofness of the boots. The boots are wearing well everywhere else though and are still very comfortable when dry. Would I still recommend them? For people that aren't wearing them for as many hours a week and value comfort these ARE really nice and comfortable for safety boots, for those that wear boots 50 hours a week and want good life out of a pair - maybe look around at other options. I have knocked off a star for not being as durable as I would have liked but would still give a conditional recommendation for these boots as they are really good otherwise. ... show more

The boots are great. Broke in quickly (a couple days of wearing around the house in the evenings before I put them to work). I can stand all day on steel ship decks with minimal fatigue. I climb a lot of ladders, too, so the light weight is another plus. The big toe box is great when you're in boots all day too. I have owned and tried on other boots from several brands in this price range and found many of them lacking in the toe room department. For me that extra wiggle room can make the difference between suffering and "no worries" by the end of a long overtime day. My wife also thought they looked better than my old boots, for what that's worth. No cons that I have seen so far. Don't really run hotter or breathe worse than other boots, despite the waterproof rating. I do worry a bit about the durability of the liner, but still going strong with no apparent wear after 2 months, so time will tell. ... show more

Amazing boots for the cost. I purchased these in a wide width and they were slightly too large. Not enough to cause me to return them. I will buy these again but in a normal width. The boots are very comfortable and extremely well made.

Update: clearly the break-in period is much longer than i would have cared, but after finding myself wearing them for an extended period of time, due to weather, they have proven to be much more comfortable than i originally thought- comparably though, it's at least 50 bucks over priced for what you get. But I'm much happier with my purchase now! I’ve worn these for several months and that should be long enough to give a genuine review...These turned out to be very comfortable at first but quickly went downhill in comfort. They just don’t hold up to 12 hour shifts. Halfway through my toes and heels hurt. I have had soooo much better work boots at this price point. Overrated and overpriced! ... show more

Boots were very comfortable I was amazed but at the end of the day I took them off for the first time wearing them and my feet got very stinky and that has never happen to me with any boots I’ve bought not happy with that I guess it’s just poor ventilation.

    • Very poorly made boots!
Very uncomfortable boots! Left boot presses Into toes from toe box. Right boot digs into ankle bone. Both boots make loud fart sounds when walking from the way insoles are made. Two days of work and the leather is breaking up on the toes, large wrinkles already formed from bending at the toes. I will be lucky if these boots last a month or two! The leather is way too soft for a work boot. The soles appear to be glued on. Very dissatisfied with Danner! These boots look good but don’t buy them unless your just going to keep them on a shelf for display. ... show more
