  • Great Boot
Size: 11.5 Color: Brown
So I recently damaged the upper on my Red Wing boot, which was disappointing since it was a good work boot. Rarely has a work boot or even a shoe lasted me so long. So I decided to pick up this Danner Boot. It looked good online and had some good reviews so I figured, if the shoe fit then I'de give it a try. So far (1 month in) I've been liking it as a work boot. I'm not crazy about the laces or the white sole, but I end up wearing shoes so long that soles get replaced by my shoe cobbler, and laces get replaced once they tear. Anyways, I have made a list of things that I do and don't like about this boot. Things I like about this boot - Fitment. The boot fits really well, I'm an 11 1/2 and european 45 and this boot fits well even though Danner reports this boot to be a 46. My foot doesn't slide at all and I can work all day without blisters or hot feet or sliding around. The toe box is little larger than average, but I find it fine. - Color. I like the leather and the logo is subtle. One thing I hate is shoes that boast their logo all over the shoes. This one is a good looking work boot. - Sole. I like the non-marking sole and that it can be replaced easily. - Height. I like that I moved from a below ankle work boot to above ankle work-boot. I think I would prefer to go to a higher boot: see the list below why. Weight. This boot weighs a decent amount, but I don't get tired thought the day. The first day was not a chore to move the weight around. Things I don't like about this boot. - Break In Period. Most boots require a break in period of a couple days, to a month. I'm currently one month in and my feet still hurt at the end of the day from the shoe not giving in. This boot takes a long time to break in. I've been walking to lunch in these boots to try to break them in faster. Lexol has been smothered on them, but my friend told me he had to put Lexol on every three days to help it break in faster. I'm not a fan of the length of break in, but once they are broken in, I'm sure I'll love them. The harder the break in period, the longer the shoe should last. My friend also told me that If I had purchased the 8-inch or taller boot, then it wouldn't be digging into my calf so bad. So I probably should have gone with the 8 inch or taller. - Tongue. Something is weird about the tongue of the shoe. The left tongue on my Danner won't stay up, it shifts to the left. The right tongue is the same way, it moves to the right. And my last pair of shoes didn't have this problem at all. It might be that the shoe isn't broken in yet, or that I got a bad batch, I'm not exactly too sure, but the problem is so minor that I won't knock any stars. We'll see in a couple more months. So that's my opinion of this boot. Hope you found it helpful. ... show more

  • GREAT BOOTS ! (SPORTS MODEL )
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Brown
I did research through the prior comments and found out that these run a little long . I ordered a half size down and I am very happy with the fit !! Very light weight , secure and snug . I have 2 implants and a couple of screws in my left ankle so I've bought many boots so far AND THESE ARE THE ONES!! great material stitching and a hole in the TOUNGE for the laces to go though!! I would have more pictures but I just don't want to take them off ! These are great 👍 and I would say its a medium heavy type of boot NOT too much!! Great summer boot i can tell.. no awkward feeling. ... show more

  • Great boot worth the wait and money.
Size: 11.5 Color: Brown
Just received the boots was kinda nervous about the sizing . I wear a size 13 in nike and adidas but reebok i wear a 12.5. I have a new pair of the guide great boots from Amazon that are a size 11 and they for perfect I have a pair of Georgia boots that are a doze 11.5 and they are a perfect fit. I tried the Danner quarry boots and the size 12 fit great but I didn't like the style so I order the Danner bull run boots in a 11.5 an these are also a perfect fit. An I wear a size 13 shoe i got lucky and the 11.5 were a great choice anyways. Great boot love the style and fit I'll do a follow up when I have them broken in. ... show more

  • Solid Boot, recommended With Some Caveates
Size: 13 Wide Color: Brown
First, allow me to say that this is a MAN"S boot. Well constructed, heavy with thick, relatively stiff leather. My initial impression when I tried them on was that of grounded stability. When purchasing any new footwear, my first move is to wear them around the house to be sure the fit is right. The time line varies but I could tell within minutes that these boots were going to work for me. This is a good time to add that I read the reviews from others and expected the boots to run a bit narrow and also to be stiff until properly broken in. I usually wear a size 13 D width but ordered the extra wide in these and that was the correct fit for me. My issues are usually toe box related and I found these boots in the wide size to be just right. I also ordered a can of Tenderly leather softener to accelerate the break in process, also based upon a user review. In the past I have relied upon products like Bickmore, Leather Honey and Leather Therapy saddle and harness conditioner, all with good results. I went with the Tenderly for extra softening. I will confirm that the uppers are quite stiff and definitely requires an extended break in period. I have been wearing them for general activities requiring moderate amounts of walking. I have experienced no pain or adverse effects and that very solid, stable feeling is how I would describe them. I can also sense that if I were to set out on foot for any real distance my feet would suffer at this point in the break in process. I have every expectation that I will soon be able to go all day with moderate walking and no ill effects but these boots will never be mistaken for hikers, nor were they designed for that. These are rugged working boots that also look good. I would suggest a few changes. The speed hooks at the top seem disproportionately small for this type of boot. The tongue needs a loop about two thirds up to allow the laces to keep it in place. The tongues do tend to slide to the side allowing the laces to contact my socks directly. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and I do recommend these if the intended application matches the design of the boot. These were never intended for coffee shop hopping. They are intended for working men in tough environments. ... show more
