The ceiling lamp is absolutely lovely. It brightens up my study just the way I need it to and I no longer need an additional light source. You will need a connection if you're planning to plug it in, and get different bulbs if you dont want white light. It can only change modes if you have a dimmable switch. There was a review that mentioned not cutting off the little zipties until you're done hanging it, and I agree with this. It made things easier. Really happy with this light! It was easy to install (diy), looks really pretty (not cheap), and is bright light! I added a medallion to the base to boost it, but not necessary. The gold base is very shiny- I was a bit worried at first- but so much of it is covered that it doesn’t show much, and on a high ceiling you really can’t tell. ... show more

This light fixture is absolutely gorgeous and is brighter than expected. Assembling the light fixture was super simple. There are instructions included, but you really do not need them. Installing the fixture is an entirely different story. There are absolutely zero instructions on how to install. Wires are not labeled in any way and you are honestly on your own trying to figure things out. Over the past year or so, we have replaced just about every light fixture in every room of our home, so my spouse has gotten lots of practice in installing these. This single fixture took us longer than any other light fixture previously installed. We spent way more time than could be reasonably expected. The end result is stunning, so I am glad we purchased it, but if you are not experienced in installation, you should keep this in mind. A little bit of instruction would have gone a long way. I did not deduct any stars because this really is a super nice light fixture and it looks amazing, but wanted to share our frustrating experience. I also wanted to note that this light fixture is much, much heavier than expected, so take that into consideration when choosing if it is right for your ceiling. ... show more
