This TIMBER RIDGE oversized reclining chair is large and heavy duty. It is actually wider than I need, and I am fairly overweight. I bought it because I believed it would last a long time with my use and have no doubt it will. The chair seems well made. It is comfortable and nap inducing. The side table is nice but was mostly in my way, so I removed it. I would buy this chair again.

Great chair for naps outside on the deck. Folds up easily. Generous seating area. I only gave 4 stars because I have had other gravity chairs that recline more so your feet are a bit higher than your head. This one stops just short of "flat" if that makes sense. It does stay in position well and has locks just in case.

You could fit a big dude on this or 2. They're serious about it. So far, it feels very solid, quiet and quality, will update if that changes too soon. And yes for sure you could fit a slimmer couple of partners on this to cuddle together that's not just Chinese marketers with their Photoshop. Unless you're shorter than like 5'7" you may want to look for lawn chair foam foot rest or your feet/heels will be resting on the bare bar. It's not too short, just almost all of these are like that. Also a foot rest would give a bit more elevation for those of you using this for swollen ankles, like I've read in comments, and like I'm testing out for my Mom. We have not tried it yet for her ankles but I'll keep you posted once we do. Off appearances only, fully reclined I'd be surprised if it didn't help swollen ankles though, looks like the type of position you might shoot for. Also if you have a really slim frame like me, you may be left scooting near only one of the arm rests and need a pillow for the other arm cause it's built to accommodate not only a tall but also a wide person. Can't say for sure, but I would guess if you get a foot rest for the bar, you could probably comfortably fit a person up to 6'5", and I'm betting maybe even up to 7 foot if you're willing to remove the head rest and attach your own pillow or such. But if you're over 6'5" probably your head will hang over the bar, definitely your feet will be laying over the bottom bar. So pad the bottom bar and try some sort of pillow for the top, but if you're big and tall this is a good place to start. If you're taller and really skinny, you're gonna have white a sprawl Goin on. Just know you're gonna probably want to bring something to rest your arm on like a thick pillow or a cooler or something. And as others have stated, it's bigger and heavier than a regular size one obviously. It does seem to dissipate body heat well, at least for me. Which will be good in heat. But keep this in mind, if I fall asleep on this in my room I get cold. Will be putting a blanket or such under me. I'm actually wanting to get a pillow pad for it too. It seems to do its job well.

Does it work for short people? Yes

I was looking for a chair to use after surgery to help me get up in the morning. I wanted a wide chair so it would feel more like a bed, with a lot of room on the side for my arms and a blanket. The easiest way to recline and raise the chair is for a person to push on the bottom bar to control the chair. I was concerned that at 5'1", this chair would be too long for me, and I would not be able to recline and raise it comfortably, especially after the surgery. Turns out I can reach the bottom bar without a problem. However, the back support was uncomfortable when I reclined because I was not sitting far back enough. I solved this problem by adding a back support cushion. The problem I did not anticipate was that I would not be able to reach the locks on both sides of the chair at the same time because of the chair's width. To lock and unlock the chair, I have to do it one side at a time, which means at some point, my entire weight is supported by just one lock. I try to minimize the pressure by continuing to press down with my back, but it is likely to shorten the life of the chair. The reclining position is comfortable, and reclining and raising the chair is easy. I had trouble locking the table in place. The pin the instruction told me to lock was just spinning and spinning. Turns out you need to snap it onto the pin on the side of the table so it just hooks onto the pin. Instructions were not clear and did not give enough details. Comfortable, sturdy, well built lard ass chair...A Winner!

This outside recliner is perfect for me. I'm 6ft 2" tall and weigh 440lbs depending on if I'm taking my water pill or not....lol. Chair lifts my weight no problem and is not only comfortable but very sturdy as well. I'm probably going to order another one so I have a matched set. Directions say it's rated for 600lbs. However I'm not going to try that one. No way! Update; It's now September 2021 and I love this chair. I still use it daily when sun is out. I was covering it up with a canvas tarp when it rained, to.stop it from rusting. But it still rusting on the sides where the welds are for grommet straps are located. In all reality, for the price this was, I wasn't expecting this chair to last year's and years. 2 years at its best and even that's a bargain to have a chair lifting us 🇺🇸 Update: August 7,2026 my 1st recliner broke in half, it rusted through some bolt holes, even though I changed out the bolts with stainless steel, the recliner itself is made out of cheap Chinese pot metal. But it did last almost 5 years lifting my heavy lard arsh. So that's pretty good. I weigh a lot less now, 350 instead of 440 so I am out of the 400 club.

Great, Substantial Chair

I'm a heavy person and wanted a zero gravity chair that was roomy and sturdy - this fit the bill. I had returned a different chair because it was uncomfortable when all the way back. The Timber Ridge chair, however, is heaven. It's easy to recline, balanced well, and easy to fold up. I'm not a big fan of the pillow but it's growing on me. I love the little side tray - works perfectly. I purchased the brown one and it looks great on my wood deck. I've had zero gravity chairs before but they don't last more than a season or two before they dry-rot so I wanted to purchase a cover for it. I found that the massage/shiatsu chair cover made my Tonint (ASIN B09HS9PFCP) fits it very well and is really easy to put on, take off - FYI. I highly recommend this Timber Ridge chair - it's worth the price.
