Used as replacement for kohler tub faucet, brass plate. Appearance is very good. Installing Danco spout was simple. No tools required, except for trick to unscrew old faucet (see Danco vid online). New Danco faucet twisted right on, exactly opposite of removing old faucet. I didn't need extra plastic parts included with new Danco. However after twisting all the way on, there was still tiny crack between the Danco faucet and the bath tile wall. It was necessary to buy waterproof silicon sealant (home depot $10) that squeezes out of tube, and apply around edges where faucet meets tile wall. It must be perfectly sealed fit between faucet and tile wall, to prevent water from getting behind tile wall and causing rot. ... show more

Style is pretty similar to every other low-priced tub spout. Super easy to install and the spout and diverter work perfectly. Took about ten minutes total to remove the old spout and screw on the new one. Plumber's tape was included; the only thing I needed was a pipe wrench.

Somebody from Danco should try installing the product using the directions they provide. Looks like they changed them a bit from a few years ago but still horrible! Directions are riddled with errors and lack of clarity. As far as the product is concerned it has the following issues. 1) directions Starr you should “screw through the Retaining ring and back the plastic extension nipple“. This is impossible with the thickness of the extension nipple being too thick, maybe the mold shifted over years. The hole must be drilled to properly open it. This should be done by the mfg. 2) the design required that the rubber O ring shown be tightened against the wall inside of the Extension nipple. This requires proper tightening of the Extension onto the adapter YET the hole in nipple must stay aligned with the slot in the adapter. Since the slot is only half way around the adapter in found the O right never seated tight enough when the hole was visible so it leaked. It appears their mild has shifted over the years because the older extension which was I cleaned up aligned just fine, and O ring seated flush resulting in no leak. 3) trying to take off an old Spout by twisting off the spout from the extension as suggested is very unlikely possible. More likely the O ring and adapter will twist and the screw will gouge the copper as its twisted off. Wise installation would be to ensure the Retainer ring screw is position on the bottom of the spout, not on top as suggested in directions. That way the screw can be later loosened threw the slot on the bottom of spout, granted need to use a rt angle driver but it’s a clean removal and a clean copper tube when done. Now that the price has risen on this product a smart US company should design this correctly with clear directions and produce it here in the USA, once and for all. ... show more

Before you buy, do a test fit and make sure the threads and the length of the pipe you were installing the device on is correct. Other than that the quality and performance is very good.

    • Leaks and damaged stub out on install

I followed the instructions such as they were and also followed some tutorials online. Installing these should be easy and straightforward. Unfortunately, the screw that holds the adapter to the stub out doesn't extend enough to hold it securely, despite driving the screw as far as it would go. I installed the faucet, and it leaked out the back. When I went to unscrew it to try to fix the leaking, the whole assembly turned instead of the faucet, due to the screw not holding it secure. Not only did this make it hard to remove, it also damaged the stub out, scratching it. So now I'm headed to the hardware to get a higher quality replacement. Do yourself a favor and save yourself a pain in the neck and buy your faucet elsewhere. Update to say I got another faucet at ACE, and I had that one installed in less than 10 minutes with no hassle whatsoever. The few extra dollars I spent for a higher quality faucet was more than worth it for the savings in time and hassle. ... show more
