This is a really cool toy, I am always on the lookout for things to keep 6 yr old niece entertained when she comes over. I have all kind of toys for boys but close to nothing for little girls. This is a big hit with her, her brothers even join in. Its nice to find an interactive toy that everyone can enjoy. The kids love it and its helps them burn energy while the adults are entertained. It is a little smaller than I expected but its easy to store and doesn't take up the whole living room. The only real downside to this is that it is not rechargeable, it takes 4 AA batteries. It would be nice if it was rechargeable or was able to be plugged in. I have a feeling we will be going through a lot of batteries, I could put rechargeable batteries in it but then that increases the upfront cost by quite a bit. Not the easiest to pair to a phone but the kids had fun at the birthday party so it was worth it. Not sure how durable it will be in the long run but it lasted through an afternoon of a few kids jumping all over it! Would make a great gift for an over active little!

Bought this for one of my granddaughters, but all three (ages 4-9) love it. The mat comes with a few internal songs which are so-so, but the unit has bluetooth, so the kids can use music from their MP3 player to dance to. There is a volume control, so it can be adjusted to not bother their parents too much. Sound quality is average at best, about what would be expected with this type of game. There are three different levels (easy, medium, and hard). The dance mat is not too large and fit into the kids' messy bedrooms with no problem. The mat uses four AA batteries for power; this is my only complaint. Rather than run through batteries every few days, an AC cord (or rechargeable internal battery) would have been nice, but this isn't that big a complaint and certainly isn't a deal breaker. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The mat is a reasonable size, only 38 inches diagonally (not counting head unit). If you buy it, watch that battery install, it's weird, but works fine. It doesn't feel too intrusive even in our small living room, yet is still big enough for an adult to boogie on. The colored foot panels stay bright even in well-lit rooms. Even though the pads are soft, they are pretty satisfying to stomp on. I liked the first built-in dance song it plays. I don't see it getting a lot of continued use in our household, as it proved too challenging for my young kids ages 4 and 8. I gave it a try myself and made it to level 4 on easy mode before the speed got too quick and things got confusing. Changing modes seemed difficult via the mode change button, so we turned it on & off allot. The mat came with a decently written instruction manual to get you started. The materials are great quality with no vinyl smell. It sounds a bit crinkly when you dance on it, but that's not too bothersome. The bottom has a non-slip texture that unfortunately slid around a bit on our wood floors. Not ideal but acceptable. I tried the memory game mode which was fun but somewhat confusing to understand at first. Bluetooth pairing worked as expected and streamed music easily from my phone. The rhythm game that has you follow the lights was self-explanatory. The mode selection button is cryptic - you have to turn it on and off in a certain sequence to change modes. The audio fidelity could be better, but it plays at a nice, loud-but-not-too-loud volume. Bluetooth streaming worked fine but wasn't as fun as the programmed game modes. I'm giving this dancing mat toy 4 stars and would recommend it if you're looking for this type of thing, (in this reasonable price range). My family played with it for a while and it was quite fun at first. Make a very decent gift for any kid who likes to dance – – or adult for that matter. ... show more

I have two twin granddaughters who are now into dancing and this floor mat tickles their fancy. It is a floor version of that lap game you had where you had to follow the light and sounds in sequence in order to win. The more times you were right, the more sound you heard and the faster the light moved. Now you have to get it right with your feet! My two (almost 3) year old is very busy and sensory input seeking so I thought this would be a good match for her and it was. This dance mat is neat because you can hook it up to your phone via bluetooth and play your own music through the mat speaker and still play the dancing game. So far we have only done the dancing game. I know there is also a memory game we have yet to try. She really enjoys this dance mat and it challenges her brain. Oh and for the adults that want to give this dance mat a whirl let me advise you not to get too passionate because I snapped one of the plastic lights in the mat.
