  • Nice boots - updated to GREAT!
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
I asked for and received these boots as a Christmas present. I chose my size based on a pair of boots I already owned, and these fit the same. It took me a while to get them on the first time, but that's to be expected when boots fit properly. Once I got my feet in them they fit perfectly. If I could have easily slipped them on initially, then they would be too large in a few weeks. I used a hair dryer to loosen the leather up so I could wear them initially. I love the look and feel of these boots. New they have the look of old leather - in a good way. They are not flashy, but they are very attractive. I haven't had a chance to see how they do in wet conditions, but I fully expect them to handle most work situations well. This may be one of my favorite presents this year! ------ Edit on January 29, 2014 After nearly a month the boots are still a little tough to put on. I contacted the seller who was willing to accept a return at a discount because they have been worn but helpfully recommended a local boot steamer to stretch them out a half size. However, after yesterday there is no way that I will return the boots. Yesterday was Snowmageddon 2014 in my city. I had to ditch my car and walk 8 miles home in the snow and 20F / -7C temps. I wore these boots and a pair of wool socks and never once did my feet feel cold. They were perfectly comfortable for the entire walk and never a bit damp on the inside. Yes, I want to stretch the boots a bit, but I can't think of anything I would have wanted on my feet for that long, hilly, cold, wet walk home. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY!
Size: 9.5 Color: Brown
I ordered these boots for my husband on September 30, 2024. Look at them after 4 months of wear. We have never had this happen with Dan Post boots!

  • Perfect work boot for me.
Size: 7.5 Color: Tan Distressed
These boots fit perfectly right out of the box with 0 break in time. I wore these for an 8 hr volunteer event the day after they arrived. I was moving bails of hay and mucking stalls so there were plenty of opportunities for typical discomfort with any type of new boot. I would recommend Amazon try before you buy. I am usually an 8.5 in any shoe/boot but the 7.5 fit like it was made for me. The only thing I changed after that first day were the insoles because I have high arches. Also make sure you wear high socks, I got a little chafed on my calves. Those were the only 2 discomforting aspects about these things I have experienced and I am writing this review 1 month after purchase. The quality of these is outstanding and YouTube reviews say they are "bargain" boots. Oh they are totally waterproof like they say, I stepped in a 8" puddle and didn't get wet. They look as great as they preform!!!! They clean up easy aswell. I was worried because another guy on here said he received a pair that should not have been sold and were crappy and stiff his entire time owning them so watch out for that. I highly recommend them because they are great and their look is simple, efficient and that makes them classic and elegant. ... show more

  • Very well made boot.
Size: 11 Wide Color: Black
They are a well-made boot. They just fit a little bit snug and they said send them back, so I’m going to and I’ll get another pair a bigger size.

  • Heel does not tread correctly
Size: 10.5 Color: Brown
So,one didn’t like my original review so this one is just the nuts and bolts of the problem. I thought these boots were well made for my purposes, a utility boot. And they fit pretty well and the size was prefect. The heels are one piece ournof man made material. Now here is the problem. With the heel flat on the floor, the sole of the boot is about 1/2” off the ground. This makes walking a three step process, heel strike, rocking forward on the front of the heel, and then to the sole. It was “clunky.” And it made walking irritating and tiresome. After much research and communications, I was told the the heel was “not treating correctly.” I guess that means it does lt flow with the sole of the boot and is a manufacturing defect, so I returned the boots. ... show more

  • Tale of 2 pair
Size: 10 Color: Brown
A little background. I am a farmer, been wearing cowboy boots most of my life and really put them through it. From sand to mud and muck. I prefer these boots for style and the fact that I can slip them off at the door and leave the dirt there. I first came across these Dan Post boots at the local farm supply store and bought them for the look and feel. Liked them so much that when I got home I searched Amazon for the same boot, found them $20 cheaper and bought a second pair. The first pair I keep as a backup (seems when I find something that fits well and I like it they decide to no longer make it) and to wear around town. Well the pair that I bought from Amazon (In my opinion) are seconds. The leather that attaches to the outsole (the welt?) is split on both boots not a complete piece. The upper on the right boot is not centered...its shifted to the inside about a 1/4 inch. The boots I bought locally have none of these issues and I would NOT have purchased them if they did. But I figured that since I was just going to use this pair around the farm there was no use raising a fuss about them and put them to work. I had no complaints for about three weeks, than the lining in the left boot ripped right at the heel. So that when I put that boot on the lining would now gather under my heel, very uncomfortable. Nothing to do but rip out all the lining, now one boot fits a little looser than other. Also the leather welt is now starting to curl up from the outsole. My bet is just a quality control issue, time will tell on the other pair. On another note, I agree with an other reviewer. These are the same boots as the John Deere. I have a pair of insulated John Deere boots that are 3 years old now with no issues but I only wear them in the winter. Though they have been in some very nasty places. ;) ... show more
