I live in Florida and there's a lot of moisture, I hate the smell of the house when it gets musty from humidity. For several years I've been going away for a month on vacation. Many people leave their A/C on low when they go away, but I would worry the house may catch on fire. Usually when I went away and came home the house smelled really musty. Then I found out about DampRid. Last time before I went away on vacation for a month, I bought half a dozen pots (the cheapest kind) of DampRid, and put them in the rooms, and also put scented sachets around the house. When I got home after my vacation, the house smelled lovely, and there was no damp from the humidity, instead the pots of water, with DampRid that was still working. I've been using it for a few years now, it really works well. Recently I bought this DampRid Hanging Moisture Absorber to put in my closet, I've been using it for a week and have noticed a difference, it's not overpowering at all, just a gentle pleasent clean whiff! The top part of the product (under the hanger) has the DampRid in it. Then there's a flat area undernieth that the moisture drips into. Already there's about an inch of liquid that had dripped down. I was worried there would be a mess, but it is all contained. To think the moisture would have been on my clothes without this. I've ordered several more of these because I don't want to be without them. Three in a box is a better buy than buying them individually. **UPDATE** I paid $7.97 only just recently, I just noticed it's gone up in price already to $19.55, I thought I was seeing things. I'm glad I got it when I did, I would never pay that much, I would get the cheap ones in the pots they are as good but if they tip over they could be messy, just have to be careful.

I ordered this product based off of a recommendation from a friend to take to Mexico with us to hang in our closets in our room to soak up moisture. This product worked very well while we were there and I use the remainders at home highly recommend these for damp areas in your home. I had no issues with any leaking and these were easily disposable. I recommend this product.

I started using these hanging moisture absorbers in my shower to cut down on mildew. Since moving to a more humid climate, I now use DampRid all around my house. They are in every closet, still in the shower stall, and the refillable containers are sitting in every single cabinet and cupboard. I had never tried the Lavender Vanilla scent until now and I love it! I already liked the Fresh Scent and was surprised by how much I enjoyed this new fragrance. Normally I'm very sensitive to smells and tend to dislike lavender in general, but this was very nice. Even though I have also purchased electronic dehumidifiers to use in my bathroom and kitchen, I still like the convenience of being able to hang one of these wherever I want. I don't see myself ever not using these. I go through probably 25 boxes (containing 3 each) of DampRid hanging moisture absorbers every year. They are an essential part of my household maintenance and keeps things smelling fresh and less dank.

I put one of these in an outdoor balcony closet and in 3 weeks it was almost full of water. I added a second one since the crystals in the first were almost gone. In one day, the second one collected quite a bit of water. When I first put the DampRid in the closet, within one day the closet's humidity level was way down. I could feel the difference when I opened the closet door and walked into the closet. I now feel comfortable putting things in that closet that would have absorbed water and thus been less usable. The smell in the closet from the DampRid is wonderful, and I am not a fan of lavender. I am very delighted with this product and this vendor for selling the product for at the lowest price compared to other vendors on Amazon.

These things are really amazing! I got a package 3 months ago and put one in our coat closet and one in the half bathroom because it's small and has no ventilation. I noticed that the half bath would often smell rather musty and be more humid than the rest of the house. The bottom bags (where the water gathers) are no almost full and ready to be changed out. I haven't noticed a musty smell in either the bathroom or the closet in awhile now, and my mother even commented on how much better the closet smells. These have a lovely lavender vanilla scent that is pretty subtle. Don't be discouraged if you don't notice a difference immediately as it took nearly two weeks before I noticed a difference (about the time I noticed the bottom bags filling with water). I've very pleased and will be re-ordering to keep the freshness going. P.S. I started using these during the hottest and most humid summer months. I'm guessing these will last even longer in the winter.
