The Daiwa Legalis LT features our LT body (light, yet tough) constructed from our all new ZAION-V material. ZAION-V is more easily machinable than our standard ZAION material, allowing a wider range of our reels to enjoy the benefits. It is much lighter and more rigid than standard materials. Also featuring a ZAION-V Air Rotor for weight reduction and added rigidity-the reels are lighter and easier to handle without fatigue over the long course of a full day of fishing.

I changed the line that comes with the Daiwa Legalis reel to 4lb. carbon-fiber line. This is a good line for landing trout since it is almost invisible in lakes and streams. Since I have never used a spinning reel before, it took some time to get used to it. The Daiwa Legalis LT spinning reel is a high-class reel without paying an enormous amount for a reel. It will hold 200 yards of carbon-fiber line of which I probably lost 6-or-7 yards learning what not to do. ... show more

One of the best at its price point, compares favorably to my Shimano L/M Stradics in smoothness and casting, doubtful it would hold up in saltwater for very long, but I needed a ultralight reel for a freshwater trout trip, and after handling one in a b&m store I ordered this one. I have all the reels from all the manufacturers and this Daiwa Legalis reel beats them all. Silky smooth rotation and light as a feather. I use it to pull hybrid stripers out from deep water all the time. And hybrid stripers are the hardest fighting freshwater fish pound for pound, so that tells you everything you need to know about the durability and toughness of this reel. Don't let the lightweight fool you, it is tough as nails and the drag is very smooth even after repeated runs from large 10lb plus hybrid stripers. I can fish all day with this reel snap jigging or jerking jerkbaits all day and my wrists/arms are not fatigued at the end of the day. This is the reel to get if you're constantly jerking a jerkbait or snapping a blade bait or spoon in deep water. Your wrist and forearms will thank you. Worth every penny. ... show more
