Spooled up with 10 lb spiderwire and a 10 lb flouro top shot with FG knot. Primary target species are large carp and catfish 6 to 15 lb range. The casting and retrieve is super smooth, the drag is phenomenal. A 10 lb common carp in the river is a heck of a good time and on the lighter line really gives the drag a work out. Bait Runner works perfectly but as people have mentioned it is rather quiet, not loud at all, but I think that's why it's so smooth of operation. So far, it's an amazing reel for the cost, caught quite a few nice size fish, paired up with a Bass Pro Shop pro qualifier rod 7 ft med fast action. ... show more

Really a great real and at an affordable price. Daiwa is know for their great product lines and this is no exception. The real action is smooth and has a lot of different features. The bite and run part is great but sometimes there is a little bit of a hang up when reeling to switch the modes, but I doubt you would notice when you hook a fish.
