The original built in (2004) has a fascia piece that must be reused so the new microwave must duplicate the front dimensions. Only the Dacor microwave meets this requirement. I had to modify the base mount to set the new microwave at the proper height to accommodate the facia piece.     • Direct Replacement for our 18 Year old Dacor Microwave
Great product direct replacement and worked with our existing Trim kit that we had installed 18 years ago. Hopefully it will last as long as the first one! Came quickly and easy to install myself!!! Fit on the existing mount in the custom cabinets etc. So nice that we didn't have to buy a new base for it to set on etc. ... show more

    • Dacor / Samsung do not respect warranties!
Bought a brand new Dacor microwave on Amazon. It broke after 9 months and when I called Dacor for service they notified me that they did not count my purchase as from a authorized dealer and so, despite showing them the Amazon receipt and the product information, they would not provide warranty service. To be clear, they believed that it was new, that it was within the warranty period and that the issue would normally be covered but they refused to cover it given it was bought through Amazon. Samsung / Dacor should be ashamed of themselves. They are pocketing the value of claims by forcing the end consumer to police Amazon vendors. This is terrible customer service and an embarrassing approach ... show more

I replaced my dead 20 year old Dacor DMT2024S microwave with this DMW2420S and it was a prefect fit in my existing space with my existing trim kit. This microwave was expensive but I saved $300 on a new trim kit, by using my existing kit. I like this microwave and the learning curve on the controls was minimal, as many are the same as my old microwave, just in different locations. The display is really cheesy compared to the old model, and reminds me of the display on a 1980's wristwatch.. It seems to work well with slightly less power at 1100 watts. I am happy with it, mostly because it matches my Dacor oven that I love. I hope I get 20 years out of this one. ... show more

This unit has been discontinued by Dacor. Our current unit was unable to be repaired due to lack of replacement parts. I was able to find this brand new left over unit online. Wanted to have the same unit due to spacing in the existing cabinet and metal surround on hand. This unit is a great microwave. Hoping to get ten years use out of this one. ... show more

    • Great replacement
Arrived in good condition and so far works perfectly. Delivery was delayed by one day because of the incompetence of my local mail service. I bought this microwave, as others have described, to replace a 13 year old Dacor that had not really died but had lost the electronic screen. We put magic marker numbers on the display screen where the numbers had been 5 years ago and kept using all the functions. I decided to replace as, without the display screen, I could not do anything semi sophisticated with this microwave but its motor and microwave capacity was still going strong. This model fits perfectly into the previous 24/27 trim kit. Unfortunately our other trim kit is white to match our old microwave. Decor only has stainless steel now. And the new trim kit for this microwave is flat without the vent slats (plus costs over $300!). From the placement in our cabinet, I think the vented slats are really important to dissipate heat and am puzzled by the change in design by Dacor. The slats are a little tedious to clean but as a TV is above the microwave and an oven below I want the heat to have a better place to go. Ebay has the old trim kit in stainless steel but so far the expense seems excessive for just the outside piece. The internal support bracket for the new microwave is exactly the same as for the previous model so the only part of the trim kit needed for my microwave is the outside frame. This newer model works very similarly to the older version. I am delighted Dacor still makes this microwave to fit my space 13 to 15 years later. ... show more
