  • Awesome Bass Strings - Bright Sizzling Harmonics with Deep noticeable lows
Love the tone of these NYXL's 45125's I love the sound so much I decided to write a review. 30+ year veteran - playing 5 string Sadowsky bass, with Agular backline. Play everything; from hard rock, country rock, jazz fusion, Top 40 hits, and 70's retro funk. I have crafted my rig, and tone to adjust for all environments small, large, indoors, and outdoors. The one element that really translates the dynamic range of your instrument, are the strings. I've gone through all of them over the past few years, Dean Markley blue steel was a favorite for awhile, then Fodera's, DR Hi-Beams, and until recently the Dunlop's ultra bright nickels. What I like about he NYXL's: They have a great feel to them that makes playing hours after hour comfortable. The sound is bright, punchy, and resonent, with rich harmonics (quality overtones that are evident even when not plugged in). All strings sound great when they are fresh, these NYXL's continue to sound fresh, even after back to back gigs, drop tuning, and back to standard tuning. Live: the tone is all world rich! deep lows, sweet melodic highs's with definitive clarity. Chords, and slapped notes sing with musical clarity. If you love a bright tone, and lots of growl - these are the strings for you. If you're driving that rhythm-bus and moving that dance floor with your bass, you must check out the NYXL's. Note: If you prefer a more muted, dark tone, closer to MoTown, 60's style basses these may not be the best string for you. ... show more
