Installed these strings on a Fender Jazz Bass with a set of Fender pure vintage ‘74 pickups. They sound pretty good. They aren’t super bright, not as bright as I was expecting. I’ve been using the non-coated nickel D’Addarios for a very long time. Brand new, this coated set sounds about like what the uncoateds sound like when I start thinking they need to be replaced. But, after a couple of weeks of use, they still sound like that, so I think the longevity is good. They just didn’t sound like brand new strings when they were brand new. They play easy. I like the feel. Some other brands of string can give me right plucking finger blisters after a long rehearsal and these don’t do that. They were reasonably priced. I can’t give you an expert opinion about the frequency response in the 2.4 k range. I’ve used Roto sounds for decades. I like them, I like these. What I really like is new bass strings. Try them if it gives you an excuse to change strings.

Nice... Clear. Resonant bass strings. I'm now playing a medium gauge set of strings on both basses, a jbass with a rosewood fretboard and a jbass with a maple fretboard. No longer playing a light gauge set of strings. Get thick bass tones with very light touch.

This is my first try with this new XT bass strings set. I'm gigging everyday on a cruise ship, I surely hope this will stay as bright and clear as it can be for the following days, weeks and or hopefully in months. Locked and loaded this XTB45130 bass steing set as soon as I got my set and so far I'm loving it. Planning to give more reviews on this after a couple of weeks and also planning ordering for more. I purchased the strings on Amazon the package looked fine but was opened on the inside and the strings were used. I got screwed. I will never buy bass strings on Amazon after this and I’m telling you all don’t buy bass strings on Amazon
