  • El Capitan bass likes these......so do I
Color: Original Version
Very nice set for the price. In fact these are considered the standard default set for acoustic bass. Feel nice on the fingers and unlike a lot of demo videos they aren’t very noisy when changing hand position. Technique matters. Average projection acoustically but plugged in the El Capitan bass sounds amazing with this set. ... show more

  • Awesome sound
Color: Original Version
These strings sound awesome and require very little tension to reach tune (really important on an Acoustic Bass). I just ordered another set to try on my fretless electric they play so good. Nice and bright tones without being "tinny" sounding. The price is really good from this seller as well.

  • Good and not too expensive.
Color: Original Version
I think my ABG had Thomastik strings on it when I got it used. They were very low tension and rope-like. Fun to play, except the strings would actually roll out from under my fingers. These strings don't behave like that - they have more tension and allow me to hit harder without having to monkey with the setup. They are of course very bright and zingy out of the box, but they seem to be wearing in nicely. I can still get all the treble or bass I want, just from adjusting my touch. They might not be the most exquisite stings to use on your ABG but they have a nice balance of playability and price. Those not liking heavy strings might want to look for something lighter gauge. ... show more

  • Beautiful sound
Color: Original Version
Very clear crisp sound, bright but not over the top. These have been my go to for 6years. I have them on a Jasmine s34c. Great set👍

  • Nice
Color: Original Version
Good solid choice. Not super phosphor bronze. In my case they fixed major intonation problem where the high g-string was sharp with the original strings. Your string diameter if you are having intonation trouble. Having a digital caliper or micrometer probably necessary to measure D string diameter.

Color: Original Version
I'm a big D Addario fan. Use them on my guitars and now have an acoustic bass and the sound great.

  • Reasonably bright. Records very well
Color: Original Version
With the right eq, I can make these sound lik an upright on my fretless Tacoma Thundercheif.
