Let me start off by saying I work at Amazon so this not a rant for no reason. I have been playing electric guitar and acoustic guitar for 19 years since I was a little kid and been playing bass for roughly 3 years now, I am also a music producer so I know my stuff about most music equipment. These strings are very poorly made or were completely defective, which is strange considering they look fine but let me tell you they were not fine, you could be a professional luither and these strings would still snap from the pressure trying to tighten them around the tuning head of the bass guitar even tightening them super slowly the wounding would give out. I have been stringing guitars for 10+ years and recording guitar for 6 years and I’ve never seen 2 strings do this before.. ... show more

I absolutely love NYXL strings, and I have them on about half of my basses, whenever i want nice, bright, punchy tone (as opposed to DR black beauties and LaBella flats). I really wanted to add these to my MSB-5, so i went ahead and ordered a set and put them on, but after about 20 minutes of playing the B string broke at the tuner :/ Thankfully i have a quick change bridge, so i can still play it, but I had to swap back out to my old B string which is... less than ideal, but it works. I can say with high confidence that the 4 high strings sound fantastic, and they play like any other NYXL set. The balance is nice between the tension of the strings, and while my standard scale 6 string set are a little extra thick, I went with this set to try and balance the thickness of the b string with the nice low string clarity that NYXLs achieve, and until the B string broke these strings were exactly what i was hoping for. I'm pretty sure at this point I can confidently order another set to replace the broken B, id just rather I didnt have to, but it happens. ... show more

Got sent used strings for full price on these strings. Never had this happen before. But less than 24hrs I was sent a new order and strung them up on my bass super happy with this order now! Just a pain I have to do a return on those first set of strings sent to me.

The outer winding separated from the core on the low B string before I got one wrap around tuning peg!!! Returned and bought Ernie Ball locally. No problems there!
