FINAL UPDATE: Fill valve continues to leak. I thought maybe I fixed it with some lube, but no. I wasted a lot of time using soapy water all over the pad looking for a hole. None found. Valve appears to slow leak as you can see with the soapy water bubbling up. I tried to find a tighter o-ring at the hardware store, but even a slightly thicker one was too big to get the valve back in the whole. My latest attempt, I bought a 1 1/4 drain plug from HomeDepot and it just fits in there. Don't know if it will hold up, it popped out once and leaked down once, but may be holding now. I WASTED A LOT OF TIME ON A POORLY DESIGNED PRODUCT at this point. I love the comfort of the mattress otherwise I wouldn't bother. If necessary, my final attempt will be to seal up the fill port with some sort of glue/epoxy and add an inflatable boat fill port somewhere else. If that doesn't work, I'l buy another mattress, probably a plain foam one that can't leak down. Don't be as stubborn as me, just return yours before the deadline if it leaks, or buy a quality foam topper and call it good. UPDATE: 2nd Trip and it deflated while sleeping on it. Fill valve design is clever but clumsy. The inner valve rotates internally with your fingers and you can take it out completely and see it is just a one way valve with rubber o-ring around plastic ring that it a little hard to position. Worked good for first 8 nights camping and several nights at home testing. Using soapy water I checked for a leak after it leaked down on me. Seems to be the fill valve design. I cleaned it and will probably put some vaseline on it to help seal in the future. The design allows it to fill and empty quickly, but I'd rather have a bullet proof screw type air valve that doesn't leak after a month of use. Could be user error, just make sure the inner valve is clean and positioned correctly. The outer cap is probably not intended as a seal, just a cover. Some lube on that inner valve seems like it do the trick for now. In comparison, my thermarest mattresses lasted years with no maintenance until either I popped them, or the valve started to leak. I hate to see a great product with an obvious design flaw when it could be better. I can't imagine that fill valve will last that long, but back in business for now. Original Review: Hope this lasts a while. The bottom is pretty tough material and the top is more of a sueded plastic feel to it. Top doesn't feel as tough as the bottom, but it is less slippery and I can see why they made it that way for sleeping on, very comfy. Hope my dog doesn't pop it. It is the perfect size for car camping. It would be huge and heavy to take backpacking but you could do a mile or two with it maybe. I got it for car camping though and think it is perfect. It would also serve as nice water float for lake camping since it is almost 4" thick. I guess that is why my air mattresses always get holes, because I use them as floats and other things. But this was cheap by comparison to a thermarest and appears to be at least as strong. You could probably patch the bottom or sides, but not sure if a patch would stick on the top surface. ... show more

Got this for use with the JEAREY Camping Cot for Sleeping 28", also available here on Amazon, and it's perfect. I'll be sleeping on these two products for the next few months while I recover from a leg injury. I was on a queen size air mattress before and my back couldn't handle it, but the cot and this mattress have been GREAT! If you're going to need to sleep in a cot for an extended period of time, or just want the best night sleep you can get on a cot, this is likely your best bet. ... show more

I rolled my eyes when I bought this for my wife for glamping while pregnant. But now I'm buying one for myself. It's basically a sleep number bed because you can inflate to desired firmness, and the interior foam adds stability and cushion. Doesn't take up much more space than a traditional thermarest, and provides an amazing night's sleep in the tent. Note: this is too heavy and bulky for backpacking, but it does have a handy carrying sack and strap, and the reversible air valve makes blowing it up and deflating it close to effortless. No pump needed, just like a thermarest. A few breaths and it's ready to go. ... show more
