Bought the Cyclops Boss, (30 joule model). Had my 1,800lb. bull get out during a bad storm, lighting hit the fence and fried my old charger. I put a spare charger i had which was a Silver Streak 3 joule in place, and observed my bull rubbing himself against the fence for fun. I touched it and was disappointed at the slight tingle. Keeping in calves and old cows is easy, but a bull that tests fences needs a strong dosage to respect them. I've always felt if you own livestock, especially bulls, you have a responsibility to have adequate fencing. Standing on dry ground, i take a 3" blade of grass and touch a hot wire with it, it's painful enough in my hand i can't hold it on. I'm confident if i touched a ground and hot wire close to the charger, it would throw me on my back or kill me....... perfect. ... show more

Lasted less than 25 days. Very strong, powerful shock. Impressive...... for 25 days. Checked power, checked fuse. Everything is ok, it just quit working. Luckily it quit within the 30 day return window, otherwise I would have been unquestionably upset. Really disappointed guys. I did a lot of research to get the most reliable unit possible. Everything pointed to this brand.. Seven hundred thirty nine dollars later, I wake up this morning to a down fence, and an escaped herd, and a no shock to the fence. Maybe I just got a bad one? The real question is, do I want to risk the $800 on another one, and it only work for 31 days. Then what? Deal with the manufacture? Yeah in my experience, that doesn't usually go well. The Zareba I had lasted 6 years... Shame really, strongest shock I've ever witnessed. ... show more

I have had many many fence chargers, and currently run several different ones Gallagher included, I have the Cyclops Boss which has taken over as my primary. This is by far the best Fence Charger out there, it will give a wollup your livestock will remember, even calves don't get out. I have dealt with the company for repairs too, awesome customer service... It's expensive but very well worth every penny ... show more

    • Very powerful but sensitive/vulnerable to lightning.
This is the second expensive 32 joule Cyclops charger we have purchased and it lasted only a year. This charger and the previous one were both knocked out by lightning strikes. Both had lightning arrestors attached to the fence but neither one survived the summer thunderstorms. I was in the garage when lightning struck out in our pasture; I heard a pop out of the charger, found blown fuses but after replacing them, the unit still didn't work. I love the Cyclops power and have decided to try a 20 joule Cyclops but have purchased 3-year Amazon protection just in case it fails as quickly as the other two. ... show more

This is the best fencer I have ever purchased! It works great for my cattle. It’s definitely worth the money.

    • only lasted less than two months
really disappointed in the quality. only lasted two month. Warranty infos hard to find. Will see what they will do. But a fencer is something you have to have. So even if they warranty it I still had to buy anther one to use while they repair it.

    • It works and worth the price.
If you have animals that are hard to keep inside a fence, then this is the right charger. We have sheep and with other chargers the sheep hardly knew the fence is hot and would get out. With this charger, they KNOW the fence is hot! Even sheep with heavy wool respect the fence now.

    • Works good when the fuse are popped
It's works good as long as the fuses don't blow. I have to replace the fuses every 2-3 weeks on it. Would not recommend for any serious ranch. More cost effective to buy 6 joule chargers for each hot line.
