  • Couldn't Be Happier
Style: 7800X3D/4070 Ti Super
I haven't had a new computer in about 8 years. For a gamer, that's not great. Fortunately I still mainly play older games like Battlefield 4 and Left4Dead 2. At any rate, my old PC started locking up for no apparent reason. After this happened a number of times, I just said screw it, I'm getting myself a new one. So, I did a bit of research and some browsing and settled on this one. I couldn't be happier with the purchase. The delivery was great, there was a minor cut in the box, but nothing whatsoever on the PC itself, which was actually packaged nicely. Has a foam protector inside the case for shipping, to be removed (obvs) before use. Everything appeared to be where it was supposed to be. No bent or broken parts. Clean as a whistle. Set up was incredibly simple, after plugging in all your stuff, just hit the power button. You get taken thru all the regular Windows rigamarole and then it does some updates. After perhaps 15 minutes, everything is up and running. This particular model is lightning quick. Of course, I had a really old computer, but still, it's so fast. It also runs incredibly cool and QUIET while gaming or just doing regular things. There's absolutely nothing whatsoever overly loud. Not sure why other reviews were saying that, tbh. The RGB lighting is fun too. Easy enough to change designs to get whatever style you want. It would be nice if there was an "off" option. Some of use are older and all these lights really aren't our style or necessary. But that is a super minor gripe. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this to people looking to just buy a new gaming PC without having to build it yourself. I previously did 4 builds and I'm glad I just got pre-build this time. It has expansion SATA slots if I want to add an internal HDD which I may do. 12TB drives cost like $130 and I will never use that much space. But for that price, why not? The PC comes with 2TB and I have an portable 2TB SDD. I have plenty of space for now. I loaded all my games from STEAM and EA Games and I only had to reconfigure a few keys since I had backed everything up and just copied it over. Lastly, it's quite a bit different playing BF4 coming from LOW settings and getting about 70-140 fps. To now playing on ULTRA settings and getting between 350-500 fps. Now, not sure how much of that is observable to our eyes. But what is observable is the smoothness of the game play now and the total lack of choppiness. So, for me, it was well worth the purchase and the price was right on target. *** EDIT October 9, 2024 *** As others have mentioned, there seems to be either a hardware issue or some software that this particular pc doesn’t like; which would actually be a Windows 11 issue. This thing will BSOD multiple times for no apparent reason. You boot or wake it up and about 10-20 seconds later, it’s locked and blue screen. I’ve had this cycle happen upwards of 15 times before the boot up finally stuck and i could use the PC again. I e also already re-loaded windows and it still did it. This is with NO 3rd party software or peripherals. It was a fresh windows load and still did this crash/reboot cycle. That is rather disappointing and totally unexpected. i’ve checked the wire connections and they’re all tight and have gone through some of the fix steps from various websites on the software end. Hopefully i can get this resolved because it’s very annoying. *** EDIT #2 11/18/2024 So, it turns out that the BSOD issue had nothing, whatsoever to do with the PC itself or the items used to build it. This was the result of a Microsoft update that corrupted Western Digital drives. I made a call to the PC builder to ask what was up and they immediately told me how to fix it. All I had to do was go to Western Digital's website and download and install the firmware update they created to fix Microsoft's error. After that was installed, I haven't had a single issue with this PC. Thus, my review and stars are back up to 5. This is once again a great purchase and beyond worth they price. Also, the customer service is timely and very very helpful. ... show more

  • Great but time will tell.
Style: 7800X3D/4070 Ti Super
Like many others, I purchased the unit during Prime Day. Several people have asked about it, and I believe it was a flash deal that sold out in less than an hour. With the Prime Day discount, the additional Prime Visa bonus, and cashback, it was an absolute steal. You would have spent more money buying the parts individually to build the unit yourself. In terms of specs, it's an absolute beast and should be future-proof for the next few years for most people. I've had the computer for a week, and although I'm not a hardcore gamer who plays for hours, everything I've tried runs flawlessly at 1440p. However, there are a few things that bother me about the unit. First, the directions are absolutely horrendous. There are several buttons on the top of the unit that change settings like the RGB lighting, but there are no instructions explaining what these buttons do. They just send you a generic manual. Secondly, if you're coming from brands like HP or Dell, be aware that Cyberpower doesn't have support software like HP Support Assistant or Dell's Alienware Command Center. For updates, you either have to rely on Windows, which does a sufficient job, or visit the manufacturers' websites to download the updates or drivers individually. Another thing to note is that, by default, the PC is set to fast start-up, so it doesn't completely shut down. In my case, this meant all the RGB lighting, including the keyboard and mouse, remained on. When I turn off my PC, I want everything off, but each to their own. Speaking of the keyboard and mouse, the ones included are actually decent, particularly the keyboard. However, I would recommend getting a better mouse, especially if you're an MMO gamer. I haven't had the "pleasure" of dealing with Cyberpower's support system (knock on wood), but don't expect it to be any better than Dell, HP, or other big names. There are plenty of horror stories online. Because of the savings, I ended up buying the extra warranty. I'm not advocating for it, but it's something to consider, especially if you plan on keeping the PC for a while and your neophyte when it comes to understanding PC's. I am tentatively giving it a 5/5, but longevity is paramount for anything you purchase now, whether it's a car or a PC. It feels like we pay for bells and whistles at the cost of durability. I'll update my review every month for the next 6 months to see whether it's an actual beast or if it turns into a paper tiger. Update: *10/01/2024* I've played a few AAA games and I'm currently playing Ghost of Tsushima and Overwatch. I've been doing some light work as well, and so far, no issues. ... show more
