I bought this Cutluxe 10" Cimeter Knife for the commercial kitchen I manage. It has a full tang, polished wooden handle, and a very sharp, curved blade which maintains its edge after heavy use. The blade is lined with divots which help prevent food from sticking, and though quite large, feels perfectly balanced in the hand. Function: I got this 9 months ago for my kitchen crew and I to use, mainly for butchering larger cuts of meat like beef eye rounds and pork shoulders. After primarily using perfectly functional, popular Swiss-inspired cimeters with black, plastic handles in the past, this Cutluxe knife feels like a huge upgrade. It has also surpassed our previous favorite knives in function, quality, and durability. We use it multiple times daily for breaking down larger cuts and for fine slicing of cooked meats for sandwiches. It holds its edge extremely well despite heavy daily use and multiple users, and the edge comes back quickly and easily with a honing rod or fine sharpening stone when needed (which isn't often). This is also washed multiple times daily in heavy-duty detergent and sanitized in bleach water, substances which can wreck blades and wooden handles, but it still looks brand new. It comes in a nice display box, and we actually use this to store the knife. Verdict: This knife is a pleasure to use and displays professional-level quality. It has held up beautifully after 9 months of constant use, and I expect it to continue delivering far into the future. Its perfect balance makes it easy to use, and its razor-sharp edge is easy to maintain. I liked it so much I purchased another knife from this brand with similar results, and I highly recommend it (with the blessings of my crew). Pros: Excellent value. Professional grade. I just received mine and haven't used it yet but I like it. It fits my hands, fit and finish is excellent, and it's very sharp. Other reviews say it holds an edge well so I doubt I'll need to sharpen it for a long time as I don't often cook large chunks of meat. I bought it for an upcoming banquet I volunteered to help out with. My 8" chefs knife would've probably been good enough, but, hey, I needed an excuse. ... show more

Size: 4. Slicing & Honing Rod Set
As an instant response 5 stars. Has good weight, hand feel, and I received it in a few days. Only time will tell if it holds a sharp cutting edge. I do plan on using it strictly for brisket. Because my 47 year old German slicing knife fell from the magnetic holder into the kitchen sink which broke the handle in two, I decided it was time for a replacement, this time with with the metal going entirely through the handle, AKA"Full Tang"! Well balanced, heavy duty and sharp. Easy cap removal of 8 bone prime rib. Removal of bones in two passes. Cut steak pieces in one pass each just to see if I could! I grabbed it again for guartering a large watermelon with ease! So far I love it. Delivery was as good as the knife.
