Word of mouth is everything. My sister-inlaw bought a 4 piece knife set, the exact same knives/model/manufacture, etc.. And when we visited her last month I tried them, felt great in my hands, I could feel the quality, etc..., sharp as heck. It cut thru watermelon like butter. It was so sharp it cut/sliced thru tomatoes so easy. So I am now the proud owner of the full set. Love them!!

Good first impression. Everything advertised arrived in good shape. The block looks nice and the wood smells awesome. The knives look good and have nice weight. A little large compared to my wusthoff set but not a problem. One of the knives (I think it's the pairer) has a slight imperfection on the cutting edge - which suggests these were sharpened manually. Not enough to take away stars at this price point. I'll update if anything goes wrong, but so far I'm pleased with it overall.

So nice looking, the knives and block. We haven't had a chance to try out all the knives but so far so good. Very sharp and heavy duty. The scissors however, not so much. They seem cheaply made and don't seem sturdy. We are keeping the shears from our previous set. That's why the 4 out of 5 review.

I'm happy... except that there aren't enough knife slots for all the knives sent. I read some of the negative reviews, and I did notice the knife block wasn't as well finished as I would have expected. It's still a very nice knife block, even with a few dings in it. It's a cheaper knife set, not high-end. When you only pay $150 for a set of knives, don't expect the same quality as if you paid $1500. Very nice set for the price. Very sharp knives. But there are 14 slots in the block and 15 pieces to fit in it. That is my only complaint. Won't take off a star for something like that tho.
