This large knife is extremely sharp and from a well known company. I bought this as a wedding gift for someone who specifically requested it. Considering how expensive it was, I was expecting at least a standard box or something. Instead, it came in a plastic bag with a flimsy paper covering the blade! This was not my first Cutco purchase. I love the product and was so happy to see I could purchase it on line. The knives are very sharp. They are well made and stand the test of time. I bought my first Cutco knife set 30 years ago and it is still performing like like new.

This knife flawlessly cuts through soft bagels and cakes. Its aerated edge is perfect for breads and it makes clean solid cuts look Easy! I love this knife and it's one of the best ones I use at my restaurant.

I thought it was a SHARP slicer like my daughter in law bought but it wasn't and Model 1583 CUTCO gift box was JUST THE BOX. I thought it was another knife IN a gift box. Would like to send it back, but too much trouble so I kept it.
