I ordered the 1" stamp using design #4 and the text of :" Ceramics by" on line 1 and my name "Jim" as the larger text on line 2. I'd like to give a fair review for those that are considering ordering a stamp to help mark and identify your own clay, soap, etc work. I ordered this specifically to be used on my clay works. I have not had or used a stamp like this previously so I was unsure of what to order regarding size, fonts, text, etc. Here is my feedback on this stamp and how it performs. I hope you find it helpful. * I ordered a 1" stamp as I planned on using it for most all of my pottery. I am very happy with the size and glad I didn't order anything larger. The one inch size fits on nearly everything I have or will make and is not overly noticeable - the size is perfect for my work. I'm sure others may make larger pieces that could benefit from a larger stamp, but again for general use for me and for use across multiple sizes, the one inch stamp is a great choice. * I was required to add my own text to be used on the stamp, and chose the text listed above. I thought the font looked nice. The text fit into the text box for line 1, so I assumed that meant it would work with the size stamp and design I chose. This is true - sort of... The text fits on the stamp, but the font I selected is called "Bad Script" and that is pretty accurate. In fairness it's a nice looking font on screen, but I now would NOT recommend it for line 1 of any 1" stamp, as it is unable to be read in the clay. The script writing on line 1 in quite small (smaller than I expected) and since it is a script font, the letters in the clay simply cannot be made out - the text is unreadable. This script may be fine for Line 2, OR for perhaps Line 1 in a much larger stamp, but I highly recommend not using this or ANY script on line 1, unless you get a larger stamp (my "guess" would be you would want at least a 2" stamp). * This is not a cheap item - both in price and in quality. It is a heavy duty, all metal, 2-part stamp that seems to be quite durable. I am sure if I take just generally good care of it, it will last me my lifetime! The price is also not cheap, so look at this as an investment in your works. This is also why you want to make sure you design it the way you want it to look, so you can use it for a long time with good results! * Pictures are attached to show to help show the stamp. I tried it about a dozen times with varied result and the script in line one is way too inconsistent. I added a dark color to try to enhance the stamp and show off the impression better. The images I provided of the spoon and stamp are to give you some size perspective as I found it hard to visualize this when I ordered. The last 2 pictures show the quality of the stamp itself and how it was milled. I went with the standard handle which is very nice and quite heavy in weight, allowing for solid grip when using the stamp. It can easily be taken apart for cleaning & storage. * OVERALL: It is well made. It is heavy duty and should last a long time. It was purchased for delivery to SC on Jan 12th and delivered on Jan 31st, which is very reasonable and within the range quoted (your time may be different depending on where you live). The problem I have is that the script in the stamp cannot be read when used in the clay! The seller should not have provided the ability to select a font for a 1" stamp that cannot be easily read when used!!! I would have selected just about any other font without an issue; in the tests I have done this small script font looks unprofessional and takes away from the time & effort I put into making my ceramics. As a result, I will NOT be using this stamp and will need to order a new one with a simple font that can be read. I rated the stamp overall 2 stars. ... show more
