  • Easy installation for dodges. I believe 1969-2015
1999 Dodge Ram 1500. Installation was a breeze...somewhat. They recommend two people, I do as well if you’re like me and you work your muscles to failure on a daily basis. I did it by myself, which was doable. Took me about 20 minutes. The hardest part was getting it off the ground from above my head. My shoulders didn’t want to do that. And also it was tight getting it around the spare tire. Would have been quicker if I had removed the spare tire and gotten it out of my way. Other than that it’s a breeze to install on a second gen ram. Mine is a 99 half ton. All the holes were already predrilled so I just put in the plates and the carriage bolts, put the hitch on my chest, lines it up, put a nut on one corner, then lined the other side up and the put a nut on the opposite corner just to square it up. Then I hand tightened the rest of the bolts, then took a torque wrench and tightened them down to 80lbs ft first, then to 110 lbs ft which, I gotta say with my arthritis was the most difficult part. Going straight to 110 lbs was impossible. I thought for sure I was going to break a bolt. So I went with 80 first, torquing them all down then to 110. I felt that was safer. The backing plates are really strong, so are the bolts. They’re 10.9. Not your typical automotive 8 point whatever bolt. The packaging....well needless to say it SUCKED, two thin pieces of cardboard wrapped around the main bar, and structured tape holding on the packing sheet, bolts and instructions right on the receiver opening, and delivery stickers slapped on the metal. Came REMARKABLY unscratched. The stickers did come off easily because the paint is very glossy and not at all porous. So they came off in one piece without leaving any residue behind. I’m not complaining too much because there was no bulky box to have to cut up just to throw away. The price for me was the best part. I trust the curt brand because I’ve had nothing but good experiences with curt products on every truck I own. The paint last longer in my experience than the draw-tie brand ... show more

  • Hitch
It fit perfect

  • Perfect fit 1991 ford f-150
Very sturdy and well made, fit on my 1991 f150 with no problems. This hitch is rated higher than what I can tow with truck so I don't have to worry later. It took me a few hours to install because of cleaning rust off frame and drilling with old bits, should have went and bought some cobalt drill bits, as my old ford did not have any predrilled holes requiring me to drill all six. Box was in bad shape but product was ok with just a couple scrapes in paint, but all fasteners were well taped to receiver of hitch and none were missing. Easy to align by following printed instructions. ... show more

  • very pleased
1998 dodge ram 1500 4x4- It is a well-made, sturdy construction. I had no problems mounting this whatsoever. I did not need to drill any holes. The receiver fit snuggly against the frame rails and had "cut outs" where necessary. Clarification on re-positioning the spare tire- it means simply loosening the cable, shifting the tire, and snugging back up so that it does not interfere with the receiver. It is no more complicated than that. You do not need to change the way the spare is attached or anything like that. ... show more

  • Cheaper than buying a weight distributing rig to get the capacity out of old hitch
Nice heavy piece. Had to drill a couple holes as it didn't match up to my previous different brand hitch, not this one's fault by any means. A bit overkill for my 1994 F150 max capacity wise, but that's not a bad thing as I see it. I can tow whatever I need to with the trailer I have access to now safely. The v-5 Reese installed by my trucks previous owner just wasn't cutting it(5k/500lbs). Mine does have a pinky finger sized hole in the end plate on either side of the main square tube, would prefer this to be closed off (its under the sticker on the end in the picture). Works and looks great, time will see how it holds up. ... show more

  • Fits a 1979 F150
I put this on a 1979 F150. You have to drill some holes, but once you get that done, it's bolts up easily. I'm also able to keep my spare tire mounted without issue.

  • Decent hitch
Fit my '85 F150 OK. A little tight on the spare tire mechanism but does let it stay in original place. Seems well constructed and hardware was good, hole in hitch for frame rivet allowed quicker clamping to drill mounting holes. Overhead drilling is never any fun but all went quickly - I keep my bits good & sharp. ... show more
