Description

Whatever your task at hand -- whether it's launching that boat before daybreak, setting up your camper before the rush or getting a final load to the dump before close -- CURT class 3 trailer hitches offer the strength needed for serious towing. They make it easy to hitch up and Bring It, offering a vehicle-specific fit and the weight capacity to handle a variety of trailers. Custom class 3 hitches are the most common type of receiver hitch for pickup trucks and SUVs. Because of their weight range, they are also found on full-size cars, crossovers and minivans. Each custom-fit class 3 hitch package is made for vehicle-specific mounting. This particular kit fits certain years of the Buick Enclave, Chevy Traverse, GMC Acadia and Saturn Outlook (see application info to verify vehicle compatibility). It provides a weight carrying capacity of 5,000 lbs. GTW and 500 lbs. TW. It is also compatible with a weight distribution hitch for level towing and a rating of 6,000 lbs. WD and 600 lbs. WDTW. CURT class 3 trailer hitches are typically used to attach and haul utility trailers, boat trailers, campers, snowmobile or ATV haulers and more (NOTE: Never exceed the lowest-rated towing component). Each class 3 hitch has a 2" receiver tube and is tested in accordance with SAE J684 for safety. To ensure that CURT class 3 receiver hitches have what it takes for serious trailering, they are designed using a hands-on approach and are constructed with rugged, high-strength steel and precise welding. We also protect our class 3 hitches in a co-cured finish of liquid A-coat and black powder coat for superior resistance to rust, chipping and UV damage.

  • It's a perfect fit!
It's a perfect fit for my 2015 Buick enclave. Installation was super easy.

  • Right stuff for my GMC Acadia
I bought this for my 2011 GMC Acadia. Good quality I can feel right out of the box. It fits perfectly to my Acadia. The only obvious thing you can see after installation is the 2" square hitch receiver head. Anything else is well hidden under the car (check out the picture I up-loaded). It is not difficult to install, although can be a little tricky when torque down the screws. I'm glad to have this on my car. As for the installation part, the holes already exist on the beams in the car, therefore no need to drill holes to install. I spent only about 5 minutes to attach the whole thing to the car, but almost an hour to torque down the screws to the spec. Here are the steps for your information: 1. remove the bumper cover at where the hitch receiver is. 2. remove the exhaust pipe's rubber insulators so you can lower down the pipe for easy access to the pre-drilled holes for installation. There are 2 rubber insulators for each pipe, one at each side of the pipe. They can be removed by hand by simply pushing (apply some grease on the rail helps greatly) 3. I had to use the 2 bolts for the back bean under the lift gate, for there is no pre-welded nuts on my Acadia. The access holes are just a little too small to fit the bolt head, so I had to grind about 1-mm off one side of the bolt head in order to let the bolt go thru the access hole. Use the fishwire provided in the package to set the bolts into the holes. 3. Pick up the hitch receiver frame, align with the pre-drilled holes on the car You need to push around a little to get the frame to the pre-drilled holes aligned. Be careful, the whole thing is about 30 pounds. I sat on the ground, raised the whole thing and sat the frame on my legs to do the alignment. My son crawled underneath the car to guide me with the alignment. Once holes are aligned, he helped to finger-tight the screws for me. 4. Torque down the screws to the specified values Once the screws are finger-tight in place use a torque wrench to tighten the screws to the torque specified. The screws are not that easily accessible by the big torque wrench. I used extension bars, swivel joints, etc. to get it done. It's not easy to apply heavy-duty torque at an angle. Maybe someone can teach me how to do that easily...? 5. Put the exhaust pipes back in place re-install the rubber insulators to put the pipes back in place. Again, it will be a lot easier if some grease applied to the rails. 6. Done! ... show more

  • Very High Quality, Includes ALL Hardware for Install, Great Price!
This hitch is great! Extremely well made, and Amazon’s price is a third what this costs to buy and install at a dealer (also about 40% cheaper than buying this at the local auto part store). I was a bit nervous about the compatibility with my vehicle because Amazon doesn’t have a matrix to confirm that it fits, but I went to the Curt and etrailer websites and they both listed this as compatible with my vehicles. I have a 2017 Buick Enclave and 2017 Chevy Traverse. This hitch fits perfectly on either vehicle. The hitch itself is very high quality. It arrived packed in a heavy duty triple walled box with carry handles. Inside, the hitch and hardware were well-packed and padded. The hitch looks really sharp. The metal and welds are top grade, as well as the finish. The lateral side mounting brackets of the hitch line up perfectly with the weld nuts on the frame, as do the holes for the two additional frame screws right at the center where the hitch connects to the bumper frame rail. The total install took 30 minutes, and that was with plenty of interruptions about great sales at the yoga store today and to drink a couple beers. The hardware is awesome. The set includes heavy duty bolts and locking spacers (including an extra pair in addition to what is needed for install), as well as carriage bolt mounting brackets and fish wire that are essential to get the hitch mounted in the center to the bumper frame rail. This is hugely convenient, as I have purchased two other hitches previously where this hardware was not included and that meant I either had to drive all over town trying to find a place that carried these specialty items, or had to wait another week to order them online (vacation killer). If you don’t purchase this hitch, make sure the one you get includes these items to avoid extra expense and headache. Another note on install: The videos and tutorials online are a bit intimidating because you have to lower the exhaust down away from the frame. While that will certainly make it easier to access and bolt the hitch to your frame, in my vehicles I found that there was enough space to get the bolts in and tightened without lowering the exhaust. It’s a tight fit and required a little patience, but seemed to work fine. As long as you have a big ol' tension wrench to get this thing tight, it's about a 2/10 on the difficulty scale to DIY the install. ... show more

  • Product is nice, installs a nightmare!!
I bought this hitch to go on my 2015 Chevy Traverse. The installation has been a nightmare due to the holes on the bottom frame of my suv being rusted out. I believe this job would have been relatively easy if I was simply securing with the six bolts provided. I noticed that for the middle of the hitch it lined up with round holes in the body of the vehicle instead of the square openings referenced by many on here. That being said I was able to secure with the attached bracket despite it being for a different opening. I have gone through two taps of which both have broke off in the holes. I have gone through at least five hardened drill bits trying to get the taps out of the two holes. I couldn’t fine any automotive place near me willing to re-thread the holes so unfortunately I had to do it myself. The product is very heavy duty and appears to be a good hitch. Before buying I would make sure that the holes on the body of your car/suv are not rusted first. Finally I don’t know about everyone else’s muffler and bracket but even after undoing the hangers I struggled working on the holes. Again, the directions for undoing the muffler brackets were for securing the two screws above the muffler, not having to re-thread the holes. ... show more

  • Easy to install
Mounted right up to the existing holes on a 2016 GMC Acadia. No problems at all. Take your time and read the instructions on how to put the bolts in the holes. A little fishing is involved but if you follow the instructions, it's very easy.
