  • Simple & quick install, perfect fit on our 2019 Ford Fusion Hybrid
I purchased this on Amazon as they had the lowest price I could find however their "will it fit your vehicle" said it would not fit (they were wrong). I've installed about a half dozen hitches on different vehicles over the last 15 years but this one had to be the most simple I've ever installed. Total installation time, working alone was about 25 minutes. On most hitch installations you have to drop the exhaust a bit which can sometimes be a bit of a pain but on this particular hitch for this car it fit right over it. The directions (which I really didn't need) were just OK. If I had written it I would have been a bit more detailed for those that haven't installed a hitch before, but they are good enough to get by with. Everything you need to install the hitch is included including 4 fishing wires to get the bolts into the correct locations in the frame. The hitch looks great on the car, barely noticeable below the bumper. We'll use this hitch for our bike and ski rack and it will allow me to pull a small trailer on occasion. Highly recommend this hitch for anyone looking to add one to a 2013 or newer Fusion or Lincoln MKZ ... show more

  • I need help installing, but it's great!
I was really impressed with the attention to detail with this hitch, as far as the design with how perfectly it fit. I have a 2015 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and it fit perfectly. The instructions were clear enough and easy to follow. I needed some help from a buddy who works on his own vehicle since he had all the equipment and experience I needed. It took about an hour or so to install, but I guess we were shooting the breeze a bit too much too. We were impressed at how the whole fishing kit worked and how it pulled the two parts through and joined it up. One thing to note that I don't think was clear, is that the piece of the car that you remove so you can get the hitch mounted does NOT go back on. I am hanging on to it for obvious reasons, but I thought that might be useful for someone to know that. I was really impressed with how the hitch is tucked underneath and not noticeable at all. It worked out perfectly with my bike rack too and the elbow easily clears the bumper which I was concerned about. So the hitch is at a good spot. It is also good to know that you will probably need two people to install this as it is heavy and takes one guy holding it while the other is under the car fastening the bolts. It just makes it easier, but I can imagine that some guys have been successful just doing it by themself. ... show more

  • Perfect fit, super easy to install, absurdly heavy duty for the application.
As anticipated, this hitch fit perfectly and was super easy to install. I did not even jack the car up to do the installation, I did it with all 4 wheels on the ground. This model Fusion is very easy to fishwire, not like some of them so that helped. Being a Class II hitch it's very heavy compared to the more common Class I hitches which wasn't a problem as I used a small floor jack to position the hitch so it's a one person job. I guarantee you this is now the strongest part of the whole car. TBH, I got this one not because I plan to tow something weighing 3500 pounds with a 3400 pound car but because it was the cheapest hitch for the car which makes it even more of a good value. I have a whole box of ball mounts most of which are Class I so I didn't buy the companion ball mount, assuming I had something that would work already. If I ever do need to pull anything heavy I have a Class V frame hitch and a 30k# gooseneck on the truck. This is for the light jobs. Oh, one downside. The packaging is crap. I'm surprised the box survived the trip at all. No internal packaging at all and one bracket of the hitch was sticking out of the box when it arrived. Luckily no damage to the hitch but it could have been damaged I guess ... show more

  • A really nicely designed, unobtrusive hitch for the Fusion
I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Hybrid that I wanted to use a bike rack on designed for a class II hitch. This hybrid is not rated to haul any kind of trailer but I thought a bike rack might be okay since it's much lighter than any trailer so I decided to risk it. This hitch is a relatively easy install. The pictures that are shown on the installation sheet are okay but it doesn't give you nearly as much information as watching the installation video does. The video on the Curt Manufacturing website wouldn't play for me but the one on the YouTube site from etrailer.com was great. I was a little concerned about permanently removing the wind fairing off the rear bumper so the hitch could fit into place but Curt Manufacturing did a really nice design on this hitch and it fits up into the space that the fairing covered for a very sleek and inconspicuous presence. When I removed the fairing I found a bunch of small rocks and dirt clods rattling around in the bottom of the fairing which obviously somehow found their way in there but had no way of falling out. So I wasn't so sad after all in removing that debris catching fairing. Because the hitch fits up into that space between the muffler and the bumper that the fairing covered before, I am hoping the hitch will act a little like a wind fairing itself and prevent the air flow along the bottom of the car from being caught by the hollow bumper. I really can't imagine the hitch affecting fuel mileage very much because of the change in aerodynamics along the bottom of the car but time will tell. ... show more

  • Easy Install, Super Sturdy, Great for a Bike Rack
I've always had great luck with Curt hitches, and this one was no exception. The box it came in got absolutely destroyed in shipping, but the finish in the hitch was unscathed, which speaks a lot to its durability. The install itself went pretty quick, too. I didn't even have to jack up the car and was able to get it done in about 30 minutes or so. I would recommend jacking up the car and having someone help hold the hitch up when bolting it on, but it can be done as a solo project and without jacking up the car. The fit and finish is great, though you do loose one of the plastic bits on the underside of the bumper (which isn't visible anyway). ... show more
