The machine works well, is easy to program, and produces good coffee. PRO: - The temperature control is a particularly useful addition over most models, though I wish I knew what temperatures each setting stood for. I don't like the coffee to be too hot so that it burns my tongue. I had started to pour the coffee into the travel mug before showering in the morning so that it could cool a bit. This makes that unnecessary. CON: - The drip pause feature (remove carafe and the spring stops it from dripping onto the platter) doesn't work very well. DEPENDS ON YOU: - The lid on the carafe does not pivot. It clips on, which may be helpful for letting you pour without the lid flipping up and dumping coffee out too quickly. It also makes cleaning the carafe harder. Don't know how well the snap-in tabs will hold up over time. PARTICULAR TO REFURB: - The refurbished unit that I bought has a large silver plug just off center on the heating platter. I returned the first for this and the second had it as well. I don't like it. It makes the carafe not sit particularly well on the platter. I'm living with this because I discarded the box and don't feel like trying to get it again. This "plug" was the reason given for returning the first one. I feel returning this one for the same reason would not result in getting one that doesn't have it. The machine works fine, but it does *not* look like an original, as Amazon's refurbished statement says it should. If the price difference between new and refurbished matters to you, this doesn't really have an effect on the functioning of the machine, but it is likely a thing you'll have to live with. (See photo for what I mean. Please ignore the coffee residue; the machine comes clean and neat, save the silver "plug.") ... show more

    • Coffee maker works great, but leaky carafe!
I bought this item as a near-replacement for one that stopped working. As it was for our condo which we rent out for a few months a year, we are not the only ones that use the coffee maker so I can't attest to how the old one stopped working. We have a similar model at our year-round home that is at least 12 years old and it still works fine, but this one lasted less than 4 years. Anyway, we bought this as a refurbished item and it works great, but the carafe is not sealed. Every time you pour a cup, there's a puddle of coffee on the counter. So far, we are the only ones that have used it, but I'm not looking forward to a renter getting coffee on their clothes and blaming us! ... show more

New it rates a 3 year warranty. Certified rebuilt it gets a 90 day warranty. Does this reflect the quality of their product or their rebuild technicians. I really like this product and must have purchased at least four over the last few years, new units. Makes a good tasting and hot cup of coffee. We will see if this one is worth the $20 savings. At least I bought the extended warranty for four dollars. ... show more

My Cuisinart coffee maker is very nice. I also have a Keurig for 1 cup of coffee. But most mornings I like the Cuisinart because I can have more than 1 cup. And the coffee is much cheaper than for the Keurig.

Now, granted, I've been using this for going on three years and been very happy with it's performance. And we drink a LOT of coffee. Having said that, however, for what one pays for this machine, one would think you would spend a little more money on the design of the hinge. The pins are quite tiny and today one broke off. So now the lid flops all over the place and is difficult to re-align and close properly. ... show more

My husband and I are in our sixties. That would indicate that we have owned "a few" coffeemakers in our time. This by far is the BEST! First of all it is beautiful to look at. It performs as indicated and the coffee taste magnificent. I would recommend this coffeemaker to anyone who wants ease of use, good tasting coffee and a beautiful unit. The price was amazing.     • Superb pot of joe!
Bought this to replace a Mr. Coffee maker I broke. No problems with the coffee maker makes a superb pot of joe. But I think the hot plate is too hot, even on the lowest setting, after about an hour the coffee has a burnt taste to it. I bought a thermal carafe to pour the fresh coffee into and it stays hot and tasting great for hours. ... show more
