So, I did a ton of research on knife sets and read tons of reviews before settling on these. And while I would have prefered to get one of the higher end knives that run $100 or more per knife, I didn't have the money to do that. Dispite the bad reviews about rusting on these and so many other competable knives out there, I have not had any issue yet. However I also take very good care of them. As soon as I am done cutting I wash in warm water with dawn soap and a soft sponge, then dry it with a paper towel wiping off all wet and after I put it in the block I wipe the handle off to get rid of as much finger oils as possible. They have been doing great. I use them usually several times a day cooking three meals a day, and they are holding up just fine. The sharpness is awesome, and using the honing rod usually every other day the blades have stayed very sharp. ... show more

This is the 2nd time I bought this set. The only reason I bought the 2nd one was due to it being a casualty of divorce, he kept them. I highly recommend them! They feel sturdy in your hands and stay sharp!

I bought the wood block version with the plain stainless steel knives. My only knock on the product in the steak knives. The steak knives have a serrated blade, the product description does not say that the blades are serrated on the steak knives. The steak knives also have a rather thin handle compared to the other knives. I'll probably by a separate set of steak knives to replace these once they need sharpening. Would have been a 5 Star rating with non-serrated steak knives and if the handles on them had been more robust like the other knives are. ... show more

Was given this set as a gift and love it so much, purchased one for a bridal shower. This set is SO worth the price. Holds up very well to abuse. Edges maintain sharpness. Durable. Well made. Probably more knives than needed for everyday use, but every now and then it's great to have that "specialty" utensil. If I could give more than 5 stars I would do so. Only negative, if you can call it one, is that the knife block is on the large side and takes up about double the size we are used to having on our counters. Even so, well worth clearing something else off to make room for this winner. ... show more

Seen some bad reviews on this item, however, it is a very nice set and most of the bad reviews seem to come from people who might be leaving the item in a dishwasher to clean and steam dry. Not really good for any utensils. I use the dishwasher sometimes on them, but remove and dry after the dishwasher finished it's cycle. No Problems. Still look great. I'm sure the dishwasher will dull the edge a little, how ever I have a nice sharpener to use when the time comes. ... show more
