This is my third kneeboard, and the best one so far. Although some reviews here are saying they received an aluminum board, this one is plastic. Both are durable but I think I like the plastic because it is easier to print on. You wouldn't get color printing on aluminum. I also like that it is small. The aluminum one I had was so big it poked me in the stomach. My 5"x8" legal pads fit width-wise, and just stick out a bit at the bottom. My favorite feature, though, is the pen holder. Many of these board use a clip at the top and it is easy for the pen to get dislodged inflight. This board uses a unique circular metal spring. It holds the pen tightly yet I can get it out using just my right hand - perfect! ... show more

This a very nice kneeboard made of aluminum. The placard is in full color making it easy to read and having IFR and VFR is a big plus for me. The board is very sturdy and looks very durable. This is the perfect kneeboard and perfect size.

    • I really like using it, but the vel-cro is a little small.

I have really enjoyed having a clipboard while flying, but I have two complaints about this one. The pen holder is practically useless. I've yet to find a pen that will stay in it for a single flight. It's really frustrating to have to search around the cramped cockpit of a GA plane looking for the pen after it inevitably drops. The other complaint is the length of the vel-cro. I'm approx 6', 200, lbs. I think I'm a fairly average sized person. The straps on this are NOT for the average American male. Maybe if I was 6' 150lbs. Having said that, I'm still able to attach the strap, and it's only minorly uncomfortable after several hours. The IFR/VFR information is probably a little small for easy reference while flying, but if you have auto pilot, or just want to memorize it whilst on the ground, it's probably sufficient. ... show more

It is simple and works well. The nice thing is it has the VFR info on the board so it is always available for your review at all times. It also comes with a plastic placard with the VFR and IFR info on each side that you can carry with you as needed. It is a practical simple design that works.

    • Nice but leg strap too short.

This is a nice kneeboard but the velcro leg strap is too short. I would consider my legs average size for a male and it is very tight on me. If you are muscled up or a large person, the velcro strap will be more like a tourniquet.
