  • Great clarity and comfort!!
Model: GA Dual Plugs
Bought this for my son- he was really impressed with the quality, clarity, of sound, noise cancellation, and comfort of this headset- especially in comparison to what his flight school has available for students. As a mom, I appreciate all the safety features such as CO2 detection! He is excited to try the bluetooth feature with music in the future! Can't rate this high enough! He would definitely recommend this to his fellow pilots! ... show more

  • a 1,200 head set shouldn't have these problems out of the box
Model: GA Dual Plugs
Immediately when i put the headset on and turned on the volume there was a high pitch ringing in the right side of the headphone - not only annoying but i think it could hurt your ears. Also, the app to control the settings on the headset only works with i-phones - and I use android. This should not happen when you buy this expensive of a headset. If you are an android phone user - don't buy. Other wise I would expect for this price that none of these issues - especially the ringing in your ear - to happen. Very dissapointed. ... show more

  • Need to be able to switch microphone sides
Model: GA Dual Plugs
Amazing headset. As soon as delivery was made, I went straight to the airport and went for a flight. Only issue I have is that being able to switch microphone sides. I fly a lot of aircraft that do not have AC and here in South Florida (KHWO) having the window open while on taxi was causing my mic to key up on VOX since the microphone boom is on the left and my vents and window are open blowing air in my face. Otherwise, I wish Lightspeed would include a cradle that I can attach Velcro so I can place the modulator on the window trim. ... show more

  • Lightspeed Delta Zulu Aviation Headphones
Model: GA Dual Plugs
I recently purchased the Lightspeed Delta Zulu aviation headphones with high expectations, given the reputation of the brand and the impressive features advertised. Unfortunately, my experience with them has been disappointing. Sound Quality: The primary letdown for me was the sound quality. Having used the Lightspeed Zulu 2s for a couple of years, I found the Delta Zulu's audio performance to be a significant step down. The sound clarity, both for music and communication, was noticeably inferior. Feedback during conversations was less clear, and despite trying various settings, I couldn't achieve the level of audio excellence that I had come to expect. Even my pilot friends, who tested them with me, shared the same concerns about the reduced sound quality. CO2 Detection Feature: I was particularly excited about the built-in CO2 detection feature, but even this didn’t compensate for the overall lack of quality. The integration of this feature seemed promising, but it did little to offset the primary issue of poor audio performance. Conclusion: For a set of headphones priced around $1200, I expected much better. It’s possible that I received a defective unit, but based on my experience and feedback from fellow pilots, I’m concerned that the quality may have diminished overall. I’ll be returning to my original Zulu 2s, which have consistently delivered superior performance. I hope Lightspeed addresses these issues and restores the high standards they are known for. The only reason I did not one star is because I love the brand and hope I simply received a defective pair either way this did deter me from spending this much money on aviation headsets. ... show more

  • Under whelming audio quality
Model: GA Dual Plugs
I am not satisfied with the ANR. I did Mid-Air swaps with a friend while flying and the Bose A20's he had are far better at ANR.

  • Not as great as a pair of A30's, for not much less
Model: GA Dual Plugs
While I liked the design of the larger ear cups than the Bose A20s, they definitely had much more clamping force, which was a bit more than desirable. The construction quality felt a bit more premium, but the headset is definitely much heavier. Overall, still a comfortable headset, but not ideal for the price range. On the topic of audio quality, radio communications sounded about equal to a comparable pair of Boses; however, I received comments from multiple students and other pilots, both on the aircraft intercom and radio, that the Bose A20s sounded noticeably better. The rechargeable battery and ability to use double-A batteries were definitely pros, making the headset more convenient; I'd count that as good versatility over the Bose. A pause button for music is definitely a pro, and the CO detector was neat but a gimmick for the most part. The headset is definitely larger than the A20, including the carrying case, which is massive but definitely secures the headset much better. Overall, the headset performed well, but for the price tag, it does not meet its expectations given its cost being so similar to the better pair of Bose. The extra comfort provided by Bose, slightly better ANR, and smaller more compact design definitely warrant spending an extra few bucks if you fly for hire, fly frequently, or fly long flights. The Delta Zulu's are not a bad headset by any stretch of the imagination, I just think they don't live up to their price tag. ... show more

  • Lower the volume before turning off the Avionics. It may pop it your ears 👂
Model: GA Dual Plugs
I was using my school's offered headset for 2 years. After purchasing Lightspeed headsets I realized how much differents it makes comparing with my old wooden headset. Sound is great, noise canceling is great, cable is great, bluetooth works, very comfortable to wear. I recommend it.

  • I received a used item
Model: GA Dual Plugs
The headset seems to be rock solid but I immediately initiated a return 2 minutes after receipt because I received a used one. The packaging was opened and it was missing the charger. I'll have to order directly from lightspeed.
