I purchased these to use in the A320/321. I have used both the A20 and A30 headset and find this to be typical Bose quality. I have found these fantastic and comfortable for long flights. The A320/321 is relatively quiet but I was having trouble hearing radio calls with the ship set Telex 750. Unless the other pilot also has a noise canceling headset I don't turn the noise canceling on and it is still quiet. I find the medium setting to be the sweet spot for the A320/321. Low seems to pipe in outside noise and it seems louder than with the noise canceling off. The carrying case protects the headset well and had plenty of room for extra batteries. ... show more

Worth every penny! This high-quality, lightweight headset is a must for any airline flightdeck. It's so comfortable and light that I forget I'm wearing it. Mic is reversible from left to right depending which seat you occupy. I've had the headset for 4 months now and the batteries are still going strong. Using this headset for one month already, in B777 acfts. Very light, I use it during long range flights. Many people have been talking about feeling uncomfortable with the earphones after a long time, it was not my case. The headset doesn't fall if you move your head. Noise canceling is really good, B777 is quite noisy..so it helps a lot. The XLR 5 pin is perfect, battery is not required. The hard case is a little bit big but there's no way to be smaller. It's possible change the microfone from left to right. The Bluetooth is very good, combined with the noise canceling gives you a fantastic sound quality. And even with the noise canceling on, I can still hear the other pilot without his headset. ... show more

The headset itself is fantastic. I highly recommend getting custom ear mold. I wear them 5-7 hours continously and have no discomfort at all. I did have to take 1 star off due to the zipper quality used on the case. It's absolutely trash and a common complaint about bose. For the cost of the headset I would expect a better quality case to be included. I just spent $120 to have a luggage company sew in a new zipper.     • good but not for everyone
looking to upgrade my headset and thought to give this a try. Bose is well-known for its superior sound quality which lives up to its name in this case. I loved most of the features that it came with. Radio calls were crisp and clear. Bluetooth was nice when I had to call maintenance at the gate. tap-through was not the most useful when it is just as easy to take out the earpiece, also the flight attendant looked at me funny sitting there tapping my ear... The only problem I had with this headset is comfort. Yes, it is lightweight and less clamping force than most headset I tired on. BUT it hurts my ear for some reason. I tested out the headset for 5 days sequence (airline flying) totaling about 24 hours of flight time and by day 3 and 4 I can't wait to get it off. Day 5 was so miserable that I barely kept it in my ears (flight time range from 1.5 hrs to 6 hrs daily). I tried to switch the earpieces to different sizes but that did not help out with the pain. Comfort is a big part of choosing your headset in my opinion so I took away 2 stars for that and I also return the product since I can't stand it. So I know there is an option to get custom earpieces to provide better comfort which may solve this hotspot/ pain issue that I had. I am just not willing to take a chance and spend another $200 on top of the $1100 that I already spend on a headset that is supposed to be comfortable out of the box. ... show more

Fantastic, several levels of ANR although the passive is more than sufficient for most operations. With the ANR set to max you cannot hear the engines from the flight deck of an A319/20/21 which made the first approach interesting. I was hoping to escape batteries altogether, but it does not seem like this unit will pull power from the XLR on an Airbus. This headset is all-day wearable. ... show more

New airline hire - 40+ with minor hearing loss - wanting to be attentive on the radios. Great purchase and worth every penny. Night and day difference of sound clarity (plus surprising comfort during long flights). In a recent cockpit experience of significant rain coupled with St Elmo’s Fire, I was still able to hear the JFK communications while my co-Pilot could not.
