Description

The Bose A30 Aviation Headset is best utilized where noise is pervasive, comfort is required and communication is critical. The Bose A30 is Bose’s highest-performing, full-featured around-ear active noise cancelling aviation headset to date. With 20% less clamping force than the Bose A20 and redistributed weight for superior on-head stability, the comfort of the A30 rises to the top among over-the-ear form factors. The Bose A30 Aviation Headset with Bluetooth further improves upon the comfort and functionality of the Bose A20 with a new acoustic design and a fully digital active noise reduction (ANR) system. As the first-ever around-ear aviation headset with three modes of user selectable noise cancellation, the Bose A30 enables pilots to control the noise they hear in the cockpit. Plus, the Bose A30’s optional Bluetooth interface and tap control for talk-through communication offer versatility for pilots across all aircraft. This pilot headset also features a toolless, side swappable boom mic and down cable, and its improved carry case has internal zippered storage and padded sides for extra protection.

Extremely high quality, just maybe a bit too expensive for what it is. Very comfortable, great should quality, and amazing controls.

  • This thing is great!
Size: Dual Plug
I was a little hesitant after reading some reviews on the a30 over the a20. After flying with this headset, I think the negative reviews are from people having an expectation that the a30 would be the next revolution in aviation headsets that the a20 was when it came to market. In my opinion I feel like the a30 fine tuned the great things about the a20. This being said though from getting to fly an a20 on occasion and not as a primary headset. My headset before was a Denali d90 from flightcom. I love that headset, super comfortable, ok ANR. I say that to say, going from the d90 to the a30 made the d90 feel like a clamp with a David Clark being a vice on that scale lol. The ANR on the a30 is so good, I had to relearn all the engine noise nuances. Bluetooth is seamless and sounds amazing phone and music. I like the option to mute or not when the intercom or radio keys up. Phone call audio is awesome and no one knows I'm flying unless I tell them. I've hot about 20 hrs on the a30a so far with no cons. Definitely worth it. ... show more

  • Best purchase of all time. Cannot recommend enough!!
Size: Dual Plug
The media could not be loaded. Why did you pick this product vs others?: The best headset on the market. I picked Bose because Bose is so reliable, I have so many of their products. Truly top of the market. Comfort: Never headaches, easily adjustable, and can purchase different ear pads! Fit: They adjust by pulling down on the earmuff portion, and the tip center stretched further apart as well. Value for money: These are definitely expensive, but I am a huge fan of spending money one time for something that will last a long time! Durability: Additionally, asking other pilot friends these headsets are super durable. The only thing that they have ever replaced is the ear pieces, but it’s was after 3-5 years of use (with the previous version I think the 20. Functionality: Can hook up your phone, get connectors that allow you to record audio and it is so clear. Small, comes with a case & adjustable mouth piece! ... show more

Buy once Cry once. These are pricey, but worth it. They are light and cut out the noise unlike any other headset.

  • bought this for my daughter
Size: Dual Plug
I bought this for my daughter and this is her review: I'm a student pilot working toward my Private with less than 10 hours, and I'm currently training in a C-172. I've spent enough time with this headset to rate it 5 stars. The earphone sound and mic quality is phenomenal, and the ANR works amazing (if you remember to turn it on!). The headset is lightweight so I forget I'm wearing it, which I am especially grateful for as someone with a sensitive head. I will say though, practicing stalls and flying out of my seat so much caused the headset to press down and hurt the top of my head a bit, but I think this could be easily fixed by slightly adjusting it's position. Practicing stalls was the only time I had any issue. This is the first aviation headset I've owned so the only other headset I can compare it to is a much cheaper one I borrowed from my flight school for my discovery flight, and I think the Bose A30 is way better and definitely worth the splurge. As the saying goes, buy once cry once! I can safely say I have no complaints about the Bose A30 and I absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for an aviation headset. ... show more

  • product did not work as it should
Size: U174
Briefly I gave it 1 star because the product did not work as it should. At least the manufacturer should indicate "Not for helicopters" Details: I am a professional helicopter pilot and the A20 is part of my life. I have two now, one built into my helmet, and one for free wear. I read all the reviews before buying and honestly did not really believe in the negative ones. As soon as I got the A30, I jumped into the helicopter for 7 hours of work. The first impressions were very positive; I liked the non-slip plastic on the new battery compartment, the thin cable, and less pressure on the ears. Noise cancellation worked well. The first negative impression came after the first radio conversations. The sound of the ATC seemed very "dry", unnatural. I would say that the sound frequency range is shifted to the top (high frequencies prevail). In reality, I think this is the peculiarity of the digital processor. The worst thing happened later. At some point, the right earphone started making a Bang-bang-bang sound. It was very loud. Not only couldn't I hear the ATС, but it also was hitting my eardrum hard. It looks like the digital noise cancellation picked up some vibration or sound or both and started autoresonance. I tried for 20 minutes to fix it; I tried moving the headphones on my head, pressing them harder, but nothing helped. Eventually, I had to turn off the noise cancellation and continue the flight without it. It's good that there was no tense radio communication when this happened. Imagine that you went deaf because of a Bang-bang-bang somewhere in B airspace or were working in close proximity to other aerocrafts. It’s really not safe. ... show more
