My new Dell XPS 8950 (12th Gen Intel i7-12700K, 1000PSU) came with 32gb memory. I added the Crucial RAM 64 gb kit (2-32gb) to bring the total ram in the system to 96gb. No compatibility issues at all - system recognized the total ram as 96. But be aware that when you add the ram, move the two existing Dell ram (if you own a similar Dell desktop) to 1 and 2 slots (instead of 1 & 3) and add the new ram to the 3 and 4 slots - next to each other, that way you avoid the system not booting up or recognizing the new ram. The Crucial ram 64gb kit cost a fraction of what Dell charges for the same thing. It works great along with the existing Dell rams. Highly recommended. ... show more

I purchased this memory to upgrade a Dell XPS 8950 which came with "only" 16 GB, but I needed more for video editing. I have used Crucial memory modules for a long time and they have never failed. Furthermore, if the Crucial memory selector lists the available modules for a particular PC, these modules will always work in my experience. This is not always the case with other brands. As with any memory upgrades, it is important to check the manufacturer's supported memory configurations. The 8950 supports 8 GB, 16 GB, 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. In other words, with 64 GB of memory installed, I cannot use the 2x8GB modules that the system came with because 64+16 is not supported. ... show more

Installed easily into my new Dell XPS Desktop. My unit came with 16gb DDR 5. The Dell memory slots are black and white on my mobo. I had to move one factory installed 8gb stick from the 3rd slot over to the second slot. These 2 new 8gb memory sticks went in slot 3-4. Some people are reporting that that you can't boot up the OS unless you install the additional memory this way. Mine fired right up and was recognized immediately ... show more

I upgraded my Alienware R13 (16gb) 2x8 to (32gb) 4×8 configuration with this. The chips have the same number on them as the ones that came with my computer. Looks like same controller as well. I had to temporally remove memory backup battery ... To get it boot...but it works great !
