Description

The Crosley C6B is a fully manual two-speed turntable created to give music fans a true analog experience. An audio-grade MDF plinth is wrapped in veneer to suit your style, and since weight helps keep vibration at bay, a heavy steel platter provides a solid seat for your vinyl during play. Housed underneath the platter, a low vibration synchronous motor connected via belt spins records at both 33 1/3 and 45 RPMs - just push the button to change speeds. Dial in the tracking force with the adjustable tonearm counterweight and then use the cueing lever to gently drop the needle on the record to fill the room with the warm sound of vinyl. The C6 comes with a moving magnet cartridge preinstalled, but uses a standard mount so you can upgrade as your vinyl collection grows. Connect speakers or your receiver to the RCA outputs on the back, use the built-in Bluetooth out function to connect to your favorite wireless speakers, or flip on the built-in preamp (or use your own) and you're ready to jam. (Compatible with NP5 replacement needle.)

Teen daughter asked for a record player. Wha wha what? Wow ok ya absolutely! Of course it will be more costly than streaming but there is that tangible holding of your records. The visit to a record store and flipping thru countless albums hate it, got it, need it. I was not gonna buy the suitcase style she said her friends got at Urban Out. So a few days research and a nominal budget I settle on a higher end model from a lower end brand. It’s fairly stout plinth. Stylus was decent, if not a little confusing to install (it needed a few pounds of force and a little angle and rotate up to get it to seat properly.) I also bought her first album Queens Greatest Hits. She needed speakers also, this has built in preamp so that makes it easy. I paired this TT with the Edifier r1290t, an active speaker. She lit up when I asked her her to place the the stylus at the beginning of the record. A little crackle then quiet before the music. She thought she had heard these songs before but there were sounds hiding under all the digital encoding, bad DACs, crappy earphones that she had been using for years. Back to the TT. It’s really solid, it’s very attractive, it’s sound great for its price, it’s resembles true HiFi tables, and it gives a budding analog music fan a glimpse into the history of how music was delivered and discovered by those that came before. While this is not HiFi by most it is a blast and will make a kid smile if not a bit envied by their peers with the tin box sounding suitcases. If your budget allows going up in price look at the Fluance RT80/81/82, U Turn Orbit, Music Hall 1.3, Crosley C10 (made by Pro-ject), and the Pro-Ject tables themselve. 9 month update. She is up to about 25 records, some pretty strange stuff too. Google ‘100 gecs’ the table has been 100% problem free. She has rearranged her room ‘hence moved the table’ at least 4 times with NO help from dad. The only feature I wish this had was auto off after hitting the deadwax for 30 seconds or so. Found her napping with the platter spinning for who knows how long. Final word is these are great for the cost. It would be nice for anyone looking for a table in this price range. Ppl will say no get a AT60 something over a ‘Crosley.’ Really for the 30 bucks more this is a better deal, looks better, not made of plastic, has a bit of a higher end feel, will not wreck the vinyl like those cheap red cartridges suitcases, sounds good, has an AT cartridge, has arm balancing, and proves that you shouldn’t lump Crosley into the toy genre. ... show more

It’s just a great turntable. Never-mind wether you’re looking for your first turntable or returning to the fun of listening to vinyl. Easy to set up, fun to use and great sounding too.

Been listening to this for the last 2 days with no issues. I've played records from as far back as 1975 and many of the new 180 gram Mondo and Waxworks albums and they all work and sound fine. The player was fairly simple to set up although the directions are rubbish. I've not used the BT but rather a pair of Logitech powered speakers and they work fine. Just had to buy an adapter cable. The player has a very stable base and contrary to a couple of the reviews the motor is very quiet. They were either referring to an earlier model or had a defective unit. My only real complaint is that the tone arm has to be manually reset at the end of the album. It will not automatically return nor will it turn off. Bottom line is that i would recommend this unit. This is my second Crosley, the first is an “all in one” record player that serves its purpose well. They are mostly known for the suitcase style players that come in dozens of colors and are less than $75 almost everywhere. I spent a couple of weeks researching this, and compared some lower end Music Hall, Audio Technica and ProJect. I nearly went with an U-Turn Orbit, until I paid a visit to my local record store and saw that they were spinning their vinyl for the entire store on a Crosley C6, that looked exactly like a ProJect. Evidently, Crosley did a deal with ProJect a few years ago for two of their turntables and still have them It is the C10, I believe. They retail for around $250 and up. This was their own design, and it looks like they borrowed quite a bit, as the tonearm, platter, synchronous motor and Audio-Technica needle. When you compare them side-by-side, as I was able to, you see where they saved some money. The feet dampeners aren’t as substantial. The hinge is a lighter plastic and the fit and finish, while very good, doesn’t scream “handmade” like the ProJect piece. What it does deliver is a rock-solid stable turntable with a tonearm you can absolutely dial-in for whatever tracking you like. They even include a nice protractor and alignment tool if you choose to upgrade the cartridge to an Ortofon, similar to the Project line. The bearing, the motor, the platter and all perfect together. Here’s the kicker: It has a built-in pre-amp so you can literally hook it up to anything, which for most other turntables like this means you start shopping at $250 and above. If I’d change anything in the design, I’d likely put the power switch on the front. It’s currently on the back of the unit, near the bottom, and I’m convinced some earlier feedback I read about “not turning on” is likely due to “not finding the switch”, as many turntable just turn on by moving the tonearm. On the plus side, it doesn’t clutter the design, but it just takes some getting used to. Buy this one with confidence. ... show more
