There are a few things wrong with this parka, but not where it really counts. In my world there are three categories of winter coats. Jackets stop at the waist. Coats fall between the waist and the knee. Parkas reach down to the knee and below. Ideally, the weight/cold protection should increase by more than simply the increase in length, i.e. a parka that is twice the length of a jacket should be three times as heavy and warm. (Some redundant nomenclature re “coat” but I think you get the picture.) I buy clothes primarily (90% +) for comfort and warmth. I’m retired so could care less about how my wardrobe looks to anyone else. But I do need to carry lots of old people stuff, so … I’ve got a thing for onboard storage, i.e. pockets. Not just how many, but capacity (width/depth), location, and entry orientation (hand warmer pockets should be Napoleonic side entry, never top entry – you look like a dog begging for treats). Pocket security is important. If your coat has side entry front pockets with no closure device (zipper/button/snap/hook and loop), you better put a tracker on your wallet. Modern coats need a cell phone pocket. Is it large enough? Is it on the outside of the coat so you don’t need to open the coat to get to the phone while out in the storm? If it’s inside, is it on the correct side (left side for right handers)? Is it transparent so you can see/tap the screen before removing it from the pocket? Three things are especially important to me regarding parkas. First, sooner or later you’ll need to drive in these bulky burlap bags. That means not just access to the floor pedals but also getting in and out of the car. Because the parka is down over the knees, you need to be able to open and spread the bottom (see review by FORSETH58). If it’s not a top AND bottom double zipper, it needs to stop short of full length down. Also, oversize extra room inside the parka is not just for layering. It really helps with steering and reaching (e.g. the radio, glove box, passenger door, or “reaching up” overhead switches). Secondly, the hood should be functional - not merely decorative. It should be heavy, adjustable (draw string), and removable. Lower face protection and cool looking Nanook fur are always a plus. Third, a good front double closure seals out the elements. Ideally, this is a snap placket (open the bottom snaps for driving) over a quality zipper. The snaps should be several and run the length of the zipper, not just one at the top and one at the bottom (“why bother” lunacy). That’s my winter coat philosophy and I’m stickin’ to it. OK, back to this item. This is absolutely a parka. It’s long. It’s heavy. I picture myself wearing this while lying on a bed. I see myself struggling unsuccessfully to sit up like a 6-year-old munchkin mummified in a head-to-toe Pillsbury dough boy ribbed puffer. But it’s still really comfortable, like a heavy quilt on a February night. Got your warmth right over here. For that alone, and for me, it’s five stars. Just plain feels good - like wearing an embrace. There’s something cozy about a puffer, especially one with lots of puff. Its double enclosure snap over zipper system is perfect. The embedded neck collar is well proportioned, warm, and very comfortable. The hood touches all the bases and the exterior cell phone pocket is secured with a zipper. The cell phone pocket interior actually dips slightly below the zipper to prevent accidental fallout. The main zipper and the elastic ribbed wrist cuffs are top notch. The colors are attractive and solid. Unlike some strange Asian tailoring, the proportions (e.g. sleeve length, chest room, armpit freedom) are all correct and comfortable. So what’s wrong with it? There is a huge scarcity of pockets for a parka this big. You should be able to shoplift in a coat this size. The two primary cargo pockets on the front exterior are neither chest nor waist pockets but located in some middle ground good-for-neither-purpose vertical no man’s land. They are top entry (slight slash angle) so useless as handwarmers. Handwarmer pockets should be located where your hands fall naturally when idle (look at the main Amazon photo). Great parkas have duplicative top entry storage/cargo pockets immediately over their side entry hand warmer pockets. Some have zippered sleeve pockets or both left and right interior pockets. Some have 6 or more pockets. “Cargo” pockets should be generous, not simply adequate. None of that going on here. This parka’s pocket protocol is pretty poor. It could have been a contender. Bottom line? Know what you’re getting and buy accordingly. I like a loose fit and love to layer, so tend to size up in moderation. Some other individual reviews accurately report possible roll of the dice quality issues. However, my experience with several purchases indicates Creatmo products to be pretty good overall. This is a hard-to-find length and weight item and a “lots of parka” steal at $80. I own three of these guys now (army green, navy blue, air force white). And carry all my essential old people stuff securely zippered in a small shoulder-strap canvas messenger bag. Oh well. Still, highly recommended. ... show more

The color is beautiful! The quality is top notch! I returned it bc i cancelled my winter trip. I would say, only down side is that the zipper doesn’t have an opening / unzipping option at the bottom. I could see the zipper getting too much stress if i were to sit weird or had to lift something and my legs were spread too wide. The inside is lined with microfiber fabric, super cozy. And the red, again, just a beautiful color. Wish I had kept it but it would have gotten no use. Definitely recommend! ... show more

Stitching inside of the arms of the coat is not up to snuff. Aside from that it is a very nice coat. Fairly warm too. Make sure you purchase a larger size than you need so you can put clothing underneath like a heated vest in very cold weather.

This coat comes from China and must be designed for the Chinese frame. Absolutely to tight for a size XL through the chest and shoulders. The arms are 6 inches too long, and too tight through the body. I’ll end up donating the one I bought to the Goodwill store.
