  • AUTO MIC MUTE AND UNMUTE WITH VOICEDETECT FEATURE Avoid fumbling over your mic mute button in a video call with our VoiceDetect feature, which mutes you automatically when you stop speaking, and unmutes you instantly as you start speaking. If you need to talk to someone on the side, disable the VoiceDetect feature temporarily by manually pressing on the physical mic mute button, and reactivate the VoiceDetect feature by pressing on the same button
  • TWO-WAY NOISE CANCELLATION WITH NOISECLEAN FEATURES Reduce unwanted background noise during an online work call from both ends of the conversation with the NoiseClean features. NoiseClean-out works to remove noise on your end by suppressing your static background noise like vacuum cleaning, so you can be heard clearly by the others. On the other end, NoiseClean-in does the same to the incoming audio of your co-workers, so you can hear them clearly in your headphonesminus their noise
  • SUPER EASY TO SET UP VoiceDetect and NoiseClean are part of our SmartComms Kit's suite of smart communication features. Simply plug the PLAY! 4 to your PC, download the Creative app (for Windows 10 and later) to get started, or further customize them via the Advanced settings. The software also comes with Sound Blaster Acoustic Engine, our suite of industry-leading audio processing technology like Surround immersion, and CrystalVoice that enhances voice clarity during video calls
  • BUILT-IN EQ MODES FOR ENHANCED AUDIO Enhance your sound further with the Bass Boost and Dynamic EQs via the EQ button located on the Sound Blaster PLAY! 4. Hear deeper, richer bass with Bass Boost EQ, or expand your soundstage by boosting lowhigh frequencies with the Dynamic EQ. Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 is powered by hi-res audio with a 192 kHz / 24-bit DAC to deliver clean audio clarity at 110 dB; audio sounds much clearer and richer than the default audio on your computers and laptops
  • PORTABLE, CONVENIENT, AND WORKS WITH ALL HEADPHONES AND HEADSETS This tiny USB-C audio adapter is no bigger than a thumb drive, and weighs just 8.3g (0.29 oz) so you can carry it in your pocket easily. Plus, the PLAY! 4 works with any of your 3.5 mm headphones and headsets, including those that comes bundled with your mobile phones, alongside with your laptops or desktops. For those with USB-A devices, we have also included a USB-C to USB-A converter so you can get started immediately

Description

Really, communications shouldn’t be this complicated. Instead of fussing over mute controls or being distracted by unwanted background noises, you should really be focusing on your work and ideas. A must-have for any work calls, the Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 is designed to solve your video call woes by simplifying the way you communicate. It debuts our newest SmartComms Kit, packed with an array of smart communication software features such as auto mute and two-way noise cancellation guaranteed to redefine your video call experience. We’ve also made sure to uphold our ethos in delivering convenience and quality with a direct mic mute button, Bass Boost and Dynamic EQs, as well as an instant audio upgrade that surpasses the default audio on any of your devices. On the back of everything is what we do best—audio quality. Powered by high-resolution audio with a 192 kHz / 24-bit DAC and delivering clean audio clarity at 110 dB, you will never go back to the default audio on your PC again. Now, it’s time to change the way you take your calls. Our SmartComms Kit was developed to fix one common issue for Windows users—to simplify the way we communicate online—via a suite of smart communication features. Why fuss over mute controls or get distracted by unwanted background noises when you should be focusing on what matters instead? Plus, it can be used with any headphones or headsets with microphone, including those that comes bundled* with your mobile phones. *Do note that the compatibility of PLAY! 4 with the button functions of your headsets are dependent on their respective manufacturer's implementation. Our VoiceDetect feature controls your mute status by voice detection as you speak—your microphone gets muted automatically when you stop speaking, and unmutes you instantly as you start speaking. There is absolutely no need to fiddle with any buttons—physical or in-app—so you can on track with your train of thought during the pitch. If you need to talk to someone on the side, disable the VoiceDetect feature temporarily by manually pressing on the physical mic mute button, and reactivate the VoiceDetect feature by pressing on the same button. Solid Red LED on Mic Mute Button: Mic Muted + VoiceDetect disabled LED Off on Mic Mute Button: Mic Unmuted + VoiceDetect enabled VoiceDetect requires your default microphone button to be unmuted in order for it to work. When unmuted, it will assume control over your microphone’s outgoing audio to automatically unmute when you speak, and mute when you stop. Noise is the enemy of all calls—whether it’s happening in our surrounding or coming from our co-workers—it’s equally disruptive. But what if it is your colleague's background noise that's driving you insane? We have the perfect fix with our NoiseClean features that reduces static background noises from both ends—incoming and outgoing audio—of the conversation. NoiseClean-in analyzes your incoming audio (imagine a colleague with a noisy background in your video call), detecting and suppressing the unwanted noises, before sending just your colleague’s clean voice to you through your headphones. NoiseClean-out does the same—but for your own background noise. Plug it in, download, and go. The Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 lets you communicate smarter in 3 easy steps: And voila, you’re done! To make further adjustments or control each feature individually, access the Advanced settings inside the SmartComms Kit module. SmartComms Kit via Creative app for Windows PC VoiceDetect - Mute and Unmute Yourself Automatically NoiseClean—Two-way Noise Cancellation Super Easy Setup On top of all the software features, Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 also comes with an EQ button with 2 sound modes—Dynamic and Bass Boost—that works great with any type of content—music, movies, and even games! Extremely lightweight (8.3g / 0.29 oz) and super portable, you can carry the Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 around with you everywhere you go—whether you are hot-desking or moving from location to location. *Voice communications on Nintendo Switch via Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 is title dependent. ^The Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 has been designed to work with fully compliant USB-C Android phones, for example, the Google Pixel series. Some phones may display partial compatibility with the Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 because of the difference in their USB-C implementation from the Android standard, and may exhibit mic compatibility issues. Due to the wide variety of mobile phone brands, models, and operating systems that may have different implementation of USB-C, certain features of the Sound Blaster PLAY! 4 may be limited by your mobile phone. The list below notes the fully compatible phones and tablet models that have been tested in-house. For the full compatibility list of the Android Phone models, please refer to the PDF file titled User Guide under the Product Guide section of this page. Do note that this list is not exhaustive and we will continue to update it from time to time. Fully compatible phone / tablet models: Frequently Asked Questions 1. • Works great with PS4 and PC! *It's not PLUG & PLAY*
Originally I bought this tiny DAC to improve PS4 sound output and IT DID significantly!! **BEWARE**, you need PC (Windows 10/11 only, Mac is not supported) to install creative app and update its firmware to get full benefits it offers. Here is my story, when I received the product I immediately plug it into my PS4 to test it following instruction. The actual sound coming from my headset was REALLY LOW, actually lower than original. So I unplugged it and then went to my PC to update its firmware. I downloaded the firmware and installed it accordingly. I thought this should do the trick, NOOO it did not. When I plugged it back to PS4, it was acting weird by disconnecting itself and blinking. I surely thought I BRICKED it. I wend back to PC again and this time, I downloaded & installed "Creative App for Windows". The creative app immediately recognized my device after unplugging/plugging and there was a setting for update its firmware. I did the update process again through app and I tested it on my PC for sounds and noise cancelling features. I did end up NOT using noise cancelling features since it seems these settings distort sound output on my headset, but overall sound quality was better than the original. Then finally I went back in to test with PS4, it WORKED!! New volume control, EQ, muting button, and everything worked well. The new volume control which comes with a new firmware is A MUST HAVE for making PS4's ouput as loud as possible. I'm pretty sure it will work on PS5 as well when I finally get ONE! ... show more

  • Plug & Play DAC (2 Units at once)
This little unit provides a clean and clear sound. Overall I'm very pleased with this unit. I can't say how durable it is as I'm using this on my PC so it's stationary. With this being said I have a tablet that sits below my monitor and the sound of my tablet runs through the "Line In" plug in the back of my PC so it's also converting that sound as well simultaneously with my PC sound. While converting 2 sound sources at once it still functions perfectly creating a great quality sound. For the price point I'm very pleased with this product. It was "Plug and Play" on my Windows 11 PC so the compatibility was great. Thank You Creative ... show more

  • Really boosts sound quality
I have a Creative sound blaster connected to my computer for about a year. Still works well. It really boosts the sound of my headphones. So I bought another one for my phone to use with my IEMs work great. Could definitely tell the difference. Fits good connection is good. I do recommend.

  • Cute Little Dongle to replace your motherboard audio
I purchased this USB sound card as my motherboard's front audio header is not working. I think the sound card does a pretty good job in terms of sound quality, as I can feel the amp on my headphones. However, the Software Suite does not seem to function as intended; it cannot update the USB sound card drivers. The product is also a bit too big; it looks silly, so see it dangling around. ... show more

  • Too many issues to keep.
Going from an older computer with a top end ASUS sound card, I was disappointed with the sound quality on my new computer. My audio listening habits have changed, and a real expensive sound card didn't seem worthwhile, so after a couple of hours researching on-line and reading Amazon reviews, decided to give the Play 4 a try, mostly because of the amazing specs and low price (I should know better, but...). At first, the sound improvement over the '5.1/7.1' outputs and built in sound on the new computer was dramatic - the Play 4 DAC really brought the speakers to life. But then it died - lost connection with the usb C port. Unplugged and tried again, and after as longer period, did the same thing. Used a different C port, with the same failures. Researched some more, checked all my computer sound settings, switched the Play 4 between mode 2 to mode 1 and back, installed the creative software which supposedly wasn't needed - nothing made a difference. Strike one. While all this was happening, the computer kept displaying a message from Creative that firmware and software needed updating. This was annoying, because that was the first thing tried after loading the Creative software and getting the message . Annoying, because the firmware uploaded OK, but the software kept popping up "can't upload at this time, try later". This message would pop up every time I started or re-started the computer. Strike two. So I decided this was a defective device, and I would exchange it for another Play 4. Having read the instructions, I knew that the Play 4 would need to be in the computer to uninstall the software, so I followed the manufacturer's instructions. A 3 step process for Windows 11, unlike most software packages: First, with the Play 4 plugged into the computer, right click start, go to device manager>sound, and click on "Attempt to uninstall software". After that was done, go to Control panel>Creative, and click on uninstall software. Then, with the Play 4 still plugged in, turn off the computer, and unplug the Play 4 after the computer shuts down and before starting again. Strike three. Instead of an exchange, I am returning the Play 4, just too needy for a long term relationship, and my time is worth more than the Play 4 is worth. The one good thing out of this 6 hour struggle is that the device confirmed what my ears suspected - I need a decent (but reliable) DAC. ... show more

  • A well-made product that actually works
Since I started working remotely I have been using cheap USB-C to headset adapters. They last from as little as 3 days to a couple of weeks before just stopping working. I actually had a couple that were dead from the moment they arrived! I decided to buy this product because it has name-brand recognition and I am so glad that I did. It works reliably and I can use it either on my phone or laptop with a wired headset. I have had no complaints about the microphone sound quality and I really like the 'red light' confirm that I am muted. The software that you can optionally use with the adapter is a little spotty. When I last tried it, there were too many quirks and bugs, but I really don't need it to use the adapter for my purposes. I travel a fair amount for work, and this adapter has already survived several trips. I much prefer wired headsets due to not needing a battery or charging with bluetooth headsets - wired headsets are often cheaper too. I frequently work 16+ hour days and don't want to deal with a headset going dead. Also wired boom microphones seem to work better than bluetooth ones for the same price-point. ... show more

  • Doesnt do its job
I have a microphone which gets a humming sound when I plug it to my pc's headphone jack so I knew I needed a DAC. but this one is so inconsistent and garbage. 80% of the time it doesn't work(tested with multiple devices). and in the other 20% my mic sounds terrible and the sound quality of the headphones is garbage, i ended up plugging my splitter into the hyperX DAC of my headphones and splitting it that way. ... show more

  • Great for HD599
Very good DAC dongle, pairs great with HD599 on a Iphone(will not handle well HD600’s series). The bass boost is well balance. Works straight from the box, there is a firmware update available for some features.
