After 5 years of use, the hot end on my Ender 3 began flaking out (rougher wall finish/layers and poor PID tuning). I attempted to fix the stock hot end by disassembling and applying a higher heat rates thermal paste but it did not improve it (side comment: buy boron based paste or you are going to end up with a cement block). I bought this primarily because of the inclusion of Capricorn tubing, longer wire lengths and installed connector on the thermistor. I reworked mine with the hot end mod (separate Bowden tube). This is a really simple fix that, in my opinion, drastically improves the sealing and performance. I have had zero leaks since moving to this and greatly improved surface quality. After installing, filament went through easy, temps went back to being stable and most of all my surface finish went back to what it used to be. We will see on long term durability.

Creality Ender OEM Hot End replacement. You will need to replace your hot end at some point. Even if you think there is nothing wrong with yours, this is a quick and inexpensive tune up for your Creality Ender Model 3d printer. It is a little difficult to wire it back through the sleeve and get the new one installed, but it is so inexpensive that it just balances itself out. This is the exact same hot end you would get stock with your 3d printer.

My original Ender 3 Pro hotend lasted for less that 100 hours before it stopped heating to temp. I bought this as a replacement. It took maybe 30 minutes to install and I was back in business . I had expected this to be an equal replacement but it is better. I was in the middle of printing multiple quantities of the same piece and the pieces printed with this new hotend are smoother and just look more professional. Same gcode file, nothing changed in the settings, just new hotend.

Hot end seems to be working fine. The included "Capricorn" bowden tube is garbage and debatable whether it is an proper/official Capricorn tube. Counted complete one print (out of a half dozen failed attempts due to various filaments jamming up in it. Went back to my old "official" Capricorn tube and printer is working great. Fortunately I was buying the kit for the hot end. EDIT - Technically, I was buying for the thermistor. The thermistor crap out 2/3 of the way thru a 3 day print. Avoid this and buy genuine parts. EDIT 2 - so, here we are 2 months out and the cable to the heater separated at the heating element, causing intermittent heating issues, ruining multiple prints. When I finally took it apart (again), found that bad attachment of cable to heater caused the insulation at that point to melt, potentially hours or days away from causing a fire. CAN NOT STRESS STRONGLY ENOUGH - DO.NOT.BUY.

Installation was relatively easy as this is basically a drop in replacement for the whole hot-end and wiring. I only purchased because the thermistor cord on my old one broke and I thought at the price, this was worth trying out. My first calibration test came out flawless.
