  • Good Product.
Size: S-Wash & Cure 3.0
Over all, this is a very good product. However, to cut to the chase, I prefer using an ultrasonic cleaner and a homemade UV curing chamber. Here are a few of the pros, cons, and reasons to back up my preferences. Pros: Simplicity (Two machines in one) Pretty good at washing parts (reason for "Pretty good" explained later) Amazing at curing parts (the UV LEDs are super powerful) Attention to safety (the lid is UV blocking and there is a safety switch that shuts down the machine if the lid is removed) Simple user interface Works with a pretty small amount of cleaning fluid (there is an included bracket that lowers the bed to the surface of the liquid) Cons: Price (see below for further detail) Can't use both the cleaning and curing features simultaneously In all, this is a very useful piece of equipment. However, let's go into further detail on a couple of the points made above. Let's start with my comment that it does a "Pretty good" job at cleaning. Though the cleaning system does a surprisingly decent job at removing excess resin from the surface of the prints, it lacks the penetrating capability of an ultrasonic cleaner. With an ultrasonic cleaner, the part gets cleaned inside and out. This is important because resin printers can't really print infill. This means that either you print with 100% infill (i.e. solid) or no infill (i.e. hollow). Because the ultrasonic cleaner uses, well, ultrasonic waves to clean, these waves can penetrate the walls of the print and clean the inside as well. And finally, let's talk price. Though this machine is pretty good at what it does, I don't think it is worth the $150 price tag (as is the price at the time of the writing of this review). I say this because of the all the other methods of doing the things this machine does (sometimes even better) but at a cheaper price. For example, I can get an ultrasonic cleaner (big enough to put the entire build plate into) for around $80 and a string of UV LEDs for $10. So, with a little DIY (to build the curing chamber) I can have equivalent capability for $60 less. In conclusion, this is an all around good machine. I believe that you can make something better, but, since this is the only all-in-one cure/wash station I can find, I would recommend it to anybody that doesn't want to mess with the DIY side. ... show more

  • Solid
Size: S-Wash & Cure 3.0
The unit works well overall—big enough for most of my prints and a real time-saver after long print sessions. The controls are intuitive, and I like that I can switch between wash and cure with a single machine.

  • Way more useful than anticipated
Size: S-Wash & Cure 3.0
I expected this device to be a positive improvement for my 3d printing, but I hadn't anticipated the kind of difference it would make. Like most people I saw this device, thought "Eh, kind of interesting, but it just does things I already have a set up for." Eventually though I was convinced to take a chance on it (being stuck at home for the coronavirus social distancing/quarantining certainly helped since I was doing more printing as a result). I was quite surprised. First, it was a big space saver. My old set up was a tupperware of IPA for initial wash, an ultrasonic cleaner for a second rinsing, and then a 5 gallon bucket lined with UV leds with a solar powered rotating display stand. This device replaced all of that and it left me with a lot of space. That extra space has also helped me keep the work area cleaner. Second, it's really convenient. The alternate means of immersing the prints, the wide platform for curing, and plenty of other little things show that this is a device that some thought went into. It's well designed and it does its jobs well. It's hard to point to a single thing, but it definitely makes what is often the most tedious parts of resin printing faster and more enjoyable. The only thing I would put as a warning - the manual doesn't say this (at least not anywhere I saw), but none of the functions work without the protective cover on. This makes sense for the cure mode, but was very confusing when I was attempting to clean some prints the first time. I nearly thought the machine was broken until I tried putting the cover on to see if that made a difference (after at least 15 minutes of trying it in every other possible configuration and with multiple different outlets). If you can spare the funds and are thinking about this device, I strongly recommend making the purchase. ... show more
