So I'll prefece this with saying I have the K1 SE and the K2 SE. I bought the k1 and did some upgrades (cover, filament extruder, camera, CFS) so its about peak performance for the K1 version. So I'm basing the new K2 off my old one with upgrades. The new K2 has native CFS (multifilament printing). Thats what I'd call the biggest upgrade to this. It's side mounted and seems to work fine. I've done a couple prints on it and its been working solid so far. Its really tough to judge because it takes a couple of months of printing for things to wear/settle in to really know how well something functions. Stock from the box, it prints well and the CFS works amazing. I haven't had any issues with it. We'll see with some time under the belt. It comes mostly pre-assembled. With having set one up before, I had it up within 10 minutes to use it. Software wise, if you've used creality, you'll be familar with it and it'll work fine. There's 3rd party options that you can use if you prefer (just google it) that work just as well. You can see the print size in the description, if you're having supports, that'll impact your print size. Usage: it is recommended to use clue on the print sheet before use. I'd used the stick glue for a while, but found hair spray works as well and is easier to clean off. That's what I'd use. Do make sure the plate is clean in between uses. My K1, I actually added the covers to it because it helps it stay clean and regulate heat. A nice upgrade for either of these. Con's: These should come stock with a camera to detect print errors. It WILL happen. Something goes wrong and it clogs/prints everywhere/etc. They should by default have that print camera to pause it or send a notice. This doesn't. It does have the connector that I can add one but It should already have it. Shooties. Is it worth upgrading from the K1? Only if you don't have CFS. I was the cost of the V2 plus some with all the upgrades that I did to my K1. But it performs better with my upgrades. Can I swap them over to the K2? Not sure and not sure if it's worth it. I'll probably stick with my upgraded K1 and just let the kids mess with the K2. If you don't have any upgrades, the multifilament print is worth it. I'd pickup a cheap camera for it.

IMPORTANT: Great printer, comes nearly ready to play right out of the box unlike my old Elegoo Neptune 4, which I had to spend an hour to assemble. I said "nearly ready to play" because you need to do a few things: remove shipping screws (no issues with that) and FLIP THE VOLTAGE SWITCH to the correct setting. I'm baffled as to why Creality is shipping a printer to US with 220V as the default, yes they put a lot of warnings all over the machine and in the instructions, but in my opinion they should just do it to avoid any issues. Print quality: The printer is sturdy, the frame gives it stability that my old printer never had. After initial setup and calibration, the machine printed a spectacular model of a benchy in 4 colors. I've been printing a lot of stuff the last couple of days and every single print is perfect, great first layer adhesion. Enclosure: I got my machine a makeover by getting a Creality enclosure ($60) for the K1 line, same frame. However, since this one has CFS module and 4 filament roll holders on the right side, I had to modify the right enclosure wall (1.5 hrs with hand tools) to make the cutouts for those. I still have to modify the original top enclosure design to account for the PTFE tubes coming out of the CFS module going to the print head. I got this mainly to reduce the noise, but once I have the whole enclosure I'll look into trying higher temp filaments. Camera: I also added a camera so that I can watch live while away to see how the print is going. The camera I got is a Creality K1 AI camera, so if the print goes wrong it can automatically stop to prevent damage. The printer is pre-wired for a camera behind a foam cover on top front right, so you just need a camera, about $20. I think it should have been included though, they certainly thought about it with the wiring in place. Connectivity: Being able to use the Creality Cloud app to slice and send stuff to printer directly is great convenience factor. My old printer required MicroSD card, so had to slice it on the laptop save it to the card, walk over to the machine, put in the card and start the print. Now I can do all of that from my phone in seconds. I can also slice in Creality Print slicer on my laptop and send to the printer directly as well. Price: Overpriced in my opinion at $470, currently on discount for $360 and I think it's much more in line with what I think the price should be. $400-$425 should be max for it considering you'll want to add a camera, and possibly an enclosure. Other must haves: Other than the camera, I highly recommend printing a poop chute or basket so it doesn't just dump them on the ground behind, and a smart outlet so you don't have to reach over to the back of the machine every time you want to turn it on or off. Final verdict: I like it, works better with less issues my old Elegoo machine had.

I'm not new to 3D printing, but I am new to Creality, so I was interested to see how this compared to the other printers I've used. Unboxing and initial setup are actually pretty straightforward, and it doesn't take long to get through calibration and start printing. Print quality is good, including multi-color prints, and I like that you're not forced to use Creality's cloud services. That said, I've found this printer requires more tinkering and tweaking than I'm used to. It's also louder than I expected, particularly the fan, and filament changes aren't exactly quick. My biggest issue, though, is the value. The build plate area feels small for a printer in this price range, and there are some surprising omissions and compromises, including no included camera. The multi-color capability is nice, but when I look at what other printers offer for the same price or not much more, it's difficult for me to justify the cost of this one. It's not a bad printer at all, and someone who enjoys tinkering may be perfectly happy with it, but at its current price I wouldn't choose it over some of the other options available.

This printer arrives almost fully assembled except for the CFS nano. It still took me about an hour to unpack everything and install the screen and unscrew the safety screws holding down the bed and setup the CFS. And set the proper voltage. I'm impressed at how well the unit is packaged for shipping, and how well thought out the unpacking and instructions are. Creality has taken a lot of time to ensure their customers have a positive experience. I can't stress this enough: Check the voltage! I've owned a dozen Creality machines, and they all ship with their switch set to 230v, and you need 110v or you will damage the machine and get really weird behavior. This printer is surprisingly noisy. I was planning on keeping this guy in my office, but after a few prints of its shrill fan in my ear, I've already changed my mind. The print quality is excellent. This has a lot of the same mechanics they've had for a few years now across the Creality line, and you can see where they've brought in the best of what works and combined it into a nice package for easy and consistent high quality prints. It's also blazingly fast while still printing with high quality. It's easily 20% faster than the fastest bed slinger I have from Creality. The slicer software for the computer is very good, their mobile applications are great, and their web application is very useful. The web app is great even at the free tier, you don't have to pay for the premium unless you want the extra premium features, but there is a lot of excellent capability available for all Creality users. This is an excellent value for the money, I'm excited to have this printer in my fleet.

The printer comes in quite a few pieces that need to be assembled. The instructions walk through the assembly which is pretty quick and easy. Unfortunately, one of the long PTFE tubes was kinked pretty bad, but I was able to pinch it back (for the most part) out with a pair of pliers and it’s seemed to work fine so far. The rest of the setup is done on the touch screen. Getting the printer up and running was quick and easy. It was easy to pair with the app. The printer itself is awesome. The print quality with the default settings out of the box is pretty good, but it seems to be geared more for speed. The very few physical printer-related issues I’ve had are likely due to old filament. I’ve learned that some 3D printers ‘poop’- when swapping filament, it cleans out the nozzle onto a little shelf and kicks the wad of filament out the back of the printer to wherever it lands. As of now, the only means of printing I’ve used is the app, just out of convenience. The app, for the most part, works but it is kind of a pain and takes some getting used to. A lot of the fine tuning settings are somewhat hidden and not immediately obvious. The app can also be really finicky. I’m not entirely sure what the deal is, but sometimes when a specific filament is selected, it will load and start a print with a completely different filament (sometimes it’s the same type but a different color, sometimes a different type entirely). The app will function fine, then randomly decide it doesn’t want to save, or slice a print, or not send a print job to the printer and ultimately the app has to be force restarted, and the model re-sliced, before it will actually send it to the printer.

I'll just start off with the bad because it's important to know but easy to overcome. Even when properly set up, filament occasionally gets detached from the extruder. More on that later. Oh and another "bad" thing - the CFS Nano (the Crealty version of the AMS lite, for fellow Bambu lovers), not a lot of people have been using it. So this kit is affordably valued, easy to upgrade and robust in what it does. While it's only rated for PLA and PETG, I suspect the proper upgrade could expand it to HIPS or ASA and other materials. This was easy to set up. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE RIGHT VOLTAGE SELECTED. It's defaulted at 220V. US folk will want to do 110V. Little switch on the side-bottom. Print quality is as good as you can expect from a bed slinger. It performs about as good as my Bambu X1C. That's awesome. The CFS system (the 4 filaments) is very new - I haven't seen the "nano" version of this many places. The setup is great. The 4 spools are spring loaded to mitigate against retraction causing the filament to kink up. Major plus. The CFS Nano also will push filament back and forth. It's very possible that one could try to use a softer filament as this system seems to be kinder. TPU isn't on the list of recommended filaments for this device, but I think it could handle multiple colors of TPU. Regarding upgrades. There are a few affordable upgrades I'd recommend. 1. The extruder. Some say it's heat creep, some say that it just needs adjusting, others say that it's worth just upgrading in general. You will probably want to upgrade this. 2. Walls. Very affordable. Will possible interfere with CFS nano system, but they'll give more flexibility on higher-heat filaments. 3. Camera. It doesn't come with one. Since the printhead doesn't have a layer quality sensor, a camera in combination with Crealty's software can likely stop if it sees an issue and possible stop in time for you to rectify it without abandoning the print. Possibly. 4. Dryer box. The CFS nano unfortunately is wide open, so filament will either need to be used somewhat quickly, or will need to be dried and stored between uses. There are dryer boxes that will house filament for printing - kind of like the AMS or CFS units, only there'd be no controls for printing - they'd still be on the nano unit. The flexibility is appreciated. If you need a starter printer or even a "sophomore" printer, this is definitely one you need to consider - just prepare for the mild troubleshooting, upgrades, and be patient as more people learn how to use and troubleshoot the CFS nano.

This is a really great machine. I was impressed with how straightforward the setup was, especially considering how many features are packed into it. The automatic leveling takes a lot of the fiddling out of getting started, and we were able to get good-looking prints without spending forever making adjustments. The multicolor printing is probably my favorite feature. Being able to print in four colors opens up so many possibilities, and the finished projects look much more polished and interesting than basic single-color prints. With my old machine, I could only paint one color; if I did want to use another color I had to stop what I was doing, which is a major pain in the neck and more often than not messed things up. This upgrade is also surprisingly fast. Even with the higher printing speeds, the frame feels extremely sturdy and stable and doesn’t shake all over the place while it’s working. It’s also fairly quiet which is a plus but not that big of a deal to me. I also appreciate the filament detection and power-loss recovery features. With longer prints, it’s nice knowing one little problem doesn’t necessarily mean losing hours of work and starting completely over. The machine itself feels substantial and well made rather than flimsy or toy-like. Everything has a quality appearance, and once you get familiar with the controls, it’s easy to use. For all the capabilities you’re getting, especially the multicolor printing, speed, automatic leveling, and solid construction, I think it’s an excellent value. We’ve already had a lot of fun deciding what to make next. If you want a capable 3D printer without making the whole process unnecessarily complicated, this one is a winner.

Printed a great benchy, followed by a cartoon keychain of my fat cat. Tried another keychain and while staring at it intently, I noticed it read "auto detect complete" when it finished its auto leveling. Then it started to bring the nozzle toward the center and raise the bed to begin to print. During the calibration, the set point temp of the nozzle will fluctuate from 140 to 170. When it went into print mode for the third keychain, I noticed the set temp never increased, it stayed at 170. I thought to myself, "this cant be happening". The bed continued to raise toward the nozzle slowly. I reached out to hit stop. It told me to wait. Then the extruder motor turned on. It tried to extrude Pla at 170 and wouldn't let me stop it. 90 minutes out of the box. It didn't just plug the nozzle, it plugged all the way up the extruder somehow. After clearing the nozzle it was clear to see and it also indicated on the screen that filament was not making it through the extruder. I then immediately packed it back in the box and filed a return. Not dealing with that.
