I used a little wax and mineral oil lube to the poles and they inserted easily. I have heard complaints about the fan, but I think it works just fine. The large zippered opening allows for easy installing and removing the laser into the enclosure. I used 1/2 inch EMT clamps to hold the enclosure to the table so it doesn't slide around. This is a good product at a good price.

I purchased this machine to add to my CNC line. I know Creality from the 3d printing world so I had faith in their product. Its a good machine and cuts and engraves nicely. That said, it does have it's faults, or at least in my experience. So far, I have cut and engraved 3mm basswood, 1/4 inch birch, some generic "Wood" keychains from Amazon. I have engraved but not cut slate. It should be noted the machine is quite heavy because of the amount of steel, this is not an aluminum device. Pros Easy to use Minimal assembly Fits nicely on a 2 foot deep storage shelf Works with creality design space Works with Lightburn (camera is not the best) Reasonably large workspace Fully enclosed Two Doors (fron and top) Removable bottom allows for larger items Quick/Easy change from UV to IR laser modules Door open shutoff (if either door opens the machine stops) Plug and play with the air purifier (purchased separately) Lights built in, no need for additional light to see what you are doing Its listed at entry level prices Cons: The air assist feels a little weak The honeycomb bed is an additional purchase Can be noisy (very noisy with the air purifier) No place to order a replacement UV laser module if the first one goes bad or wears out Camera doesn't work the best with Lightburn (I don't use it anyhow because I don't let it sit unattended when running Z range could be a little better (with the honeycomb in I struggle to get autofocus to work with objects more than about 3/8 inch.) Camera mounted on the top door is just a little thick and the laser carriage bumps it. Exhaust fan seems a little under powered The work area is smaller than the honeycomb area so aligning things can be difficult The IR module is only 2 watts, a 5 or 10 watt would be better No passthrough or conveyor system to do long wooden signs Personal Issues: Mine came without an owners manual and when I reached out to Creality I was told to print it off myself because they couldn't send one. The doors are colored orange and are suppose to stop the damage to eyes if you watch the laser. I discovered if I watch it for more than a minute or two my eyes start to hurt, I bought a set of laser glasses and the problem was resolved. Over all, I am satisfied with the machine for what it is, an entry level laser engraver. Yes, I'm using it as a side hustle and hope to upgrade to a commercial laser in the future. It works good and doesn't take too much space so it fits my needs for now. If I had to do it over would I buy this machine, probably.

The product works but I have several issues with it. First off, the window on the top is not in the correct place as shown in the pictures, so that made it kind of useless. The vent holes are also reversed from what the pictures show, so my plan on where to place vents/cords etc was kinda blown. The height is ok as long as you don't have a camera on your engraver, but since I do it's about 4 inches too short. Overall the material seems good and it didn't take long to set up, but keep in mind that you may get something that looks nothing like the pictures.

Assembly was intuitive, but the instructions weren't clear for fan mounting (easy enough to guess based on pictures). All the parts were included in sealed plastic wrapping. Putting the fabric enclosure on over the frame was a little tricky (need to make sure you've pushed the poles all the way into the plastic corner pieces). Fit's snugly and the Velcro secures the enclosure to the frame. Enclosure is open on bottom so it's pretty easy to pick up and set down over laser machine. Gaps on bottom are small enough that smoke doesn't escape, but air can come in when the USB fan is on. It's easy to run cables through the holes installed, however I find running them under the enclosure is better since you can more easily pick up the enclosure to remove the material after a successful cut of a large piece of plywood. Note: There is no USB power adapter for the fan, and there is no lights inside the enclosure (some other products on Amazon have a light). I bought a simple USB light separately and wrapped the cable around the frame so it hangs and I can more easily see inside. Only concern is the clear screen doesn’t seem to filter out all of the blue light from the diode laser. I mostly got it for the fume control, so I still wear safety glasses when it’s running.

Its hard to explain this in generalized terms, but to boil it down, this cutter is like working with an engineering sample Android phone from a new company. Everything about this will give you unpredictable and unrepeatable results that change the next day. This is my first toe dip into laser engraving and cutting, but I have years in 3D printing and I thought that business was the wild west, oh no, lasers have them beat. the camera you need to set the task for the machine is wildly difficult to calibrate and as a result probably only 1/2 of the usable space will cut with acceptable distortion. the wifi requires a specific ip address or it cant talk to the internet or other machines on your network. the lasers are notorious for losing power one day and regaining it the next. if you get one of these absolutely get it from someplace with a robust return policy because you WILL be second guessing the purchase within days.
