  • Go with what you know! Brand matters
Style: 1/2 Inch
I recently purchased the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench, 1/2" Drive as a replacement for a malfunctioning torque wrench that I had previously purchased from Home Depot. Here's my review of the product based on my experience: First and foremost, I was drawn to the CRAFTSMAN brand due to its reputation for quality and reliability. I had heard positive things about their tools, so I had high expectations for this torque wrench. In terms of build quality, the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench feels solid and well-constructed. The materials used are durable and give a sense of confidence while using the tool. The 1/2" drive size is suitable for a wide range of applications, making it versatile for various projects. One of the key features of a torque wrench is its accuracy, and I'm pleased to say that the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench delivers in this aspect. The wrench is designed to provide precise torque measurements, allowing me to tighten bolts and nuts to the specified torque values with confidence. The torque settings are easy to adjust, and the wrench clicks audibly when the desired torque is reached, providing a clear indication. The handle of the torque wrench is comfortable to grip, and the overall design is user-friendly. The wrench is also relatively easy to calibrate if needed, ensuring accurate readings over time. As for the performance, the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench has been reliable and consistent. It has performed well during various tasks, including automotive work and other mechanical projects where precise torque application is crucial. I have not encountered any issues with the wrench's functionality or performance so far. In terms of pricing, the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench is reasonably priced compared to other torque wrenches on the market. While it may be slightly more expensive than some budget options, I believe the quality and reliability of the CRAFTSMAN brand justify the investment. Overall, I am satisfied with my purchase of the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench, 1/2" Drive. It has proven to be a reliable and accurate tool, which was exactly what I was looking for as a replacement for my previous malfunctioning torque wrench. If you're in need of a dependable torque wrench for your projects, I would recommend considering the CRAFTSMAN Torque Wrench as a solid option. ... show more

  • Very happy with this purchase
Style: 1/2 Inch
How the warranty actually works since I took time and looked into it: 1 Year (The Main Warranty): This covers defects in material and workmanship (the tool breaks or is assembled incorrectly). 90 Days (The Calibration Guarantee): This covers the accuracy of the tool. DO NOT USE IT TO REMOVE/LOOSEN BOLTS/FASTNERS. This is a tightening tool (torque wrench). Use a breaker bar, etc., instead. PROS: This is an accurate torque wrench. It's been tested by many reputable YT channels with industrial grade equipment and its among top performer of its class, even after 1,000 (1K) use cycles. The value of its pricepoint for what it offers in terms of accuracy and durability is high. Plenty of leverage with its long length. The locking mechanism is perfect and easy to use. It's nice to dial in numbers. You can torque down clockwise or counterclockwise. Click is loud and clear. Case and torque wrench itself look good in quality. Nice and heavyduty. Also offers Nm scale. CONS: It's not a digital torque converter. (its why it costs less but not always a bad thing) It's long, and even though that's why I bought it, dont expect it to fit every single area. Not lightweight. I dont think its heavy either but its also not light. ... show more

This product is of excellent quality, it's brand new, and I paid a fair price.

  • Best bang for your buck, especially if you see it go on sale!
Style: 1/2 Inch
Incredible bang for your buck! Comes with a nice storage case so you can put it away nice and neatly. Thanks to the long length of the torque wrench, torquing down my wheels takes minimal effort compared to me 3/8" torque wrench from another manufacturer. Rubber grip is nice and keeps my hands from accidentally slipping off the handle when cranking things down to higher torque settings. Locking collar and twist adjustment is buttery smooth. Everything clicks into place nice and crisply. Outstanding functionality. Feels robust and durable. ... show more

  • Good price.
Style: 1/2 Inch
This is one of the “new” ones so I don’t how how long it’s going to last (versus the original Craftsman). It feels good and works well. Main reason I bought it was the sale price and my infrequent use. If I was going to use it more, I’d get a digital torque wrench and probably one of the better brands. ... show more

  • A good value for occasional use. Tactile and audible click needs to be improved
Style: 1/2 Inch
From my experience, craftsman tools have been a great value and just as good as the high end brands that sell out of trucks. Lifetime guarantee so even if it does fail, you get it replaced. This is one of the few exceptions where I would rate craftsman lower. The torque wrench works fine, it’s the subtle audible and tactile click it gives when the desired torque is reached. The other brands I’ve tried have a very definite “click” that can be heard and felt. Both are Important to take out the chance of a false positive especially in a noisy area. The click on this craftsman is very soft and not very loud so on sever occasions I had to ask myself was that the click or something else, back off the nut and retighten and really pay attention for the subdued click. If you’re doing high ft lb torque with a lot of muscle, having to focus on the click is probably difficult. Aside from this, it is reasonably priced and does get the job done, especially if you only use it infrequently, like rotating tires or a weekend car repair. Quality is very good and I feel that, like other craftsman hand tools will last a looong time. Translating the markings to the torque you need takes some getting used to if your a first time user and digitals are easier in that respect but dropping a clicker is bad enough for its calibration, so a digital with the display, to me, is a much bigger gamble. To sum it up, it’s worth the price for occasional use and you probably need to reacquaint your body to recognize the click if you haven’t picked it up in a while, but still a solid tool. If you use a torque wrench as part of your profession or on a frequent basis, I recommend looking at another brand ... show more

  • Excellent tool for the price
Style: 1/2 Inch
I have a cheapo Pittsburgh (Harbor Freight) torque wrench that goes up to 150ft lbs and I have a small Craftsman torque wrench for inch lbs. When I needed something bigger, I figured I was going to have to pay quite a bit for the better quality that I’ve seen in my Craftsman wrench. To my surprise, this one was only $60, which is cheaper than the HF Pittsburgh of the same size. It’s a no brainer. Size is good; the 24” long handle gives the leverage you need for higher torque values. It gives a solid click when you hit your torque, and you can feel it in the handle as well (see video). It is easy to read, and you set it by pulling down on the spring-loaded collar and twisting the dial to the desired torque. Performance seems good so far- I had to torque a bolt to 240 and it did it with no problem. It comes with the calibration report showing its accuracy before it left the factory. The wide torque range makes it pretty versatile for medium to heavy duty jobs. It comes in a nice looking case, too! ... show more

  • Great Product and Delivery
Style: 1/2 Inch
I have been using a different torque wrench that was about 10” shorter in length, and I would have to strain to obtain the torque required for the job I’ve been working on. This is made well and lives up to the Craftsman name, and with the extra length I can obtain the required torque with much less effort. I would definitely recommend this item if you’re in need of a very capable tool for your torque jobs. I received it same day without requiring and additional shipping costs on my prime account. ... show more
