It might be beginner's luck, but I made my first four candles with the wax and wicks from this kit yesterday and am currently enjoying the lovely scent from my first test burn. I used Oui yogurt glass containers and my own scent blends that I make from essential oils and aromachemicals I buy from Perfumer's Apprentice. I noticed some of my blends seem more suited for home scents versus perfume and body oils, so bought this wax on a whim. I know you are supposed to let soy candles cure a week or more to get good cold and hot throw, but all four of my candles (made with four different scent blends) have cold throw after 24-hours and the one I am burning right now has a good hot throw. I melted the wax and at 185 degrees added my fragrance and stirred for two minutes before pouring in jars. I think I've found a new hobby! ... show more

I used reclaimed Oui yogurt glass jars to make these soy wax candles as Christmas gifts. I was totally blown away by how many candles I was able to make with this kit, and how nice the wax was. It was easy to make my own double boiler using a stainless steel bowl over a large stock pot. The wax even cleaned up easily. I will definitely purchase this again. ... show more

This has everything you need to get started except for molds/containers, which I already had from saving old votive cups. I did use clothespins to hold the wick because the stabilizers were too big for a votive.
