My 7 year old daughter wanted to learn how to sew. We started with pieces of fabric and buttons, which she caught onto pretty fast. I ordered this kit so that she could do more projects at the beginner level. So far she has made a little purse, a pin wallet (?), and a few other projects on her own (like a belt!). So, she does love it. We made a few things. Didn't know the donut was not already pre-made for pins. We have to make it. It's the hardest project. The thread is not the best... it's a pain go thread threw the needle. Thank god I have a grown up kit with a threader. But, all in all she is loving it. Just wish I knew the donut was something we had to build. I would have gotten her a tomato or something. Thanks ... show more

These are easy and cute projects but you only get enough material for 3. The fabric for pillows and scrunchies aren't included and you only get 4 buttons. I bought this for my 7 year old granddaughter. She absolutely loves it. There are many colorful projects in the kit that are easy to cut out and sew....from a heart shaped garland, wallet with button, purse, and a needle holder. The sewing instructions and projects start out very basic/simple and expand to more complicated appliqué techniques. Everything you need to do a project is in there.
