Our modular home has a lovely, rustic wood burning fireplace, but apparently they are just for show..have been trying to decide the best thing for supplemental heat and ambiance. It took awhile, but finally decided to look at an electric log insert with heater. We decided on the Country Living 20” log insert set, mostly based on reviews, which were excellent; so glad we did, as it is perfect..not too big, not too small, so realistic and beautiful! It gives off a warm gentle heat, which is adjustable, and feel so good! It is heavy enough to be substantial, but light enough for ease of placement. So easy to install..just set it in, plug it in and turn it on..remote works great! What more can I say..we considered a more costly one, but reviews had a few consistent threads that were concerning. So happy with this unit..get one, you can’t go wrong!

After much searching, I decided on this electric fireplace log set, and I am pleased with it. I set it inside my fireplace that I never used and it looks really nice, puts out good heat, the flame images look pretty real too. One thing I couldn't get any info on was the amp draw, not until I received the unit. First thing in the instructions...15 amp draw, needs a dedicated breaker. So, I had to have an electrician put in a dedicated line to the fireplace, since the whole room was on a 20 amp breaker with computers, modem and router, lights and ceiling fan on it already. Cost a few thousand dollars, but I wanted it, so I paid it. So be aware that you have to make sure your electrical outlet can handle the draw or you will have problems! Why can't these companies just put this critical piece of info in the list of info on their page?

I really like this insert. I researched quite a few of them. I love the realistic looking logs on the top.I have a small wood burning fireplace as I live in a condo, this fit perfectly. I was so tired of cleaning up the ashes every time I had a fire but wanted one that didn't look so cheesy. It could be a little brighter but overall I am happy. The video is from my old camera phone so you don't get the full effect. I did buy a crackle box and glad I did. I also had to buy a good extension cord as my outlets are just a little bit too far away. I am happy with the heater too you can hear it when it is on but not a big deal especially because it does heat my living room up pretty good. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase but I have only had it for one day. The remote is easy to use, there is the on and off and 3 settings for the flame. If there are any issues I will update my review. Update: The light bulb went out, the company has responded and are sending me a new replacement since it is under mfg warranty. Great Company!

Do not get this if you want to control it by WiFi. It has to be THE WORST IDEA of how to design the use of wifi. EACH time the unit is turned of, you have to re-pair the unit with the router. So you cannot turn it ON with the wifi. The, it is DESIGNED to turn the WIFI off after 30 MIN. We are not talking about LEASE time, but it shuts the CHIP off. So, to control it with your phone, you have to go to the unit, and then with your flashlight, veiw the panel (which is my next complaint), press certain buttons. then hope you have it adjusted the way you want within 30 min, as after that, you have to use the remote (not very good, but functional to a degree) or get up andagain with your flashlight, veiw the panel, and adjust. STUPID!!! The panel is very hard to use. It is on the front (ok half a point for the placement here), but you cannot fell the buttons.It is a flat glossy sheet of plastic, but you cannot fell all of the cut ousbhind them) It would be nice if you could SEE or feel where each button is. Some of the buttons will light up, but noot all of the (it seems this is the way it is designed as the manual mentions some of the buttons and mentions they have certain reading, but the ones they onn't mention what to look for, do not lisght up. It would be nice to have either illuminated button. Shoud be you touch any light and they all ligt up for a few minutes. It would also be nice if you could FEL what the button is. I mean, this is designed to be in a dark hole (aka fireplace) so assistance with the identification of what you are pushing would be nice. Do not buy this if you are looking for the crackling noise to add ambiance. This sounds like the "frog clicker" I used to get for holloween when I was a kid. sounds horrible. The control of this is very wonky by the remote, if you can at all. Sometimes you can HOLD the button, and it will turn off, other time, you need to push it for a few seconds then wait for a few second to turn it down 1 level, so you may have to do this several time (it has 5 levels I think, but this is not reliable as you may need to do it many times. The heat is OK. It is radiant, so ot is expected not to be like a space heater, It does take some time to warm up. We do have a large room (15 x 20 and a 10 foot ceiling). It does warm the room up to a comfortable temp (not too hot, but OK) Please do note, radiant heating is great as it does not feel dry or uncomfortable. You will not feel te heat like a space heater, so if you wnat to warm up your hands, it is not very helpful to put your hands in front of it, as you do not have the push of hot air. This is normal for radian heating so this is not a hit, just someting to expect, which I was. I am hoping I can get another remote, as the one we have may be across my room. I really hope that the unit is redesgned. I like the look and the size (I have the 27 in and my fireplace is 36 in, so it fits well. The operational design really needs some major work. We were thinking of returning,I even got the OK, but I could not find anything that I think will heat up the room as well, after all, that was the purpose of a heater. Please redesign the WIFI and I would like to get one with a useful WiFi once you do!

Absolutely LOVE this fireplace insert. I looked around for weeks on Amazon trying to find an insert that looked real, but wasn’t going to break the bank. This one absolutely does the job. The flame effect is most impressive at night (which makes sense), but you can see the “flames” during bright daylight too! Love that it comes with a remote, too. As for the heating aspect - it works really well! And it doesn’t leave the wood underneath the vent feeling hot, which I was worried about. Additionally, most inserts have their heat vent off to one side, which wasn’t going to work for our small fireplace since part of the vent would be blocked by the facing of the mantle. This insert has the heat coming straight from the center - which I think is just more appealing overall. It makes a low humming noise when it’s on, but I barely notice it. It doesn’t make fire crackling sounds, but I simply bought a sound machine that I play alongside of this when I turn it on. It really is great for the price! Similar inserts go for around $200. I am very pleased.

Was great while it lasted. This was a great fake fireplace heater. I placed it right inside my real fireplace, ran the cord out and enjoyed the show and warmth as our basement is chilly in the winter. I also separately bought a sound machine to get the crackling fire sound. The fire itself is beautiful and looks realistic especially at night behind the fireplace grate. Really gorgeous. Sadly the heat function stopped working after about 3-4 months no matter what I do there is no heat anymore. Everything else works fine still so it’s pretty to look at but not warm.

I am using this in an old firebox after removing my old gas fireplace insert. I could only fit the 20" size in my fireplace insert as the insert narrows in the back.. It gives a good amount of heat to warm up my 11 x 22 x 10 foot ceilings room about 5 degrees within an hour or so. My only wish is that the cord were longer because I have to use a 6-8 foot 14 gauge heavy duty extension cord to reach my outlet which is not ideal for safety. I only use this when I am in the room because of my safety concerns. Fireplace logs are the best I found for a real wood look and the flames flicker nicely against my fireplace back wall light colored bricks. I love this so far. Hope it lasts for many years. It is 21" in front, 20" in back , 9" deep and 13" height. The cord is 3 pronged and about 5' long and comes out right rear of unit. Overall I am very pleased.
