    • Easy assembly, should effectively protect my couch’s corner.
I ordered this corner cat scratcher by Jugglenaut for the very purpose shown-to protect my couch’s corner. Assembly is easy and includes four pieces of wood, a plastic base, the sisal cover, and the items needed for assembly. Directions are easy to follow although they left out how to attach the sisal cover to the scratcher but since that is pretty self-explanatory I will not deduct any stars. I admit that I tried to rush the process along and messed up when I screwed the two long edges together to make the corner. I didn’t check that the holes were along the bottom for the base and had to take it apart. With my specific scratcher all screw holes lined up perfectly if the pieces were correctly positioned. I usually don’t fully tighten my screws until all parts are initially together but had no trouble with anything lining up. Once the wood pieces are formed into a corner you screw it onto the base, attach the felt protective pads (I wish there were a couple more included since the screw heads do not sit flush with the plastic base) and then attach the sisal scratching pad to the wood corner. They also include double sided tape if you should want to more permanently attach this to your couch but I felt that setting the couch’s leg on the plastic corner was secure enough. The scratcher could be a little taller but looks like it will protect my couch very well. My Amazon rating system- Five stars-As described. May have a minor problem. Good to great value. Four stars-As described but may have a more noticeable flaw or problem. Or, not as good as value. Three stars-Good item. Has a flaw/problem that requires more work than should be invested in a product. Two stars-May be a good item with work. Or, doesn’t work for me but may for someone else. One star-Nope. Doesn’t work for me and probably won’t for anyone else. My Amazon rating system- Five stars-As described. May have a minor problem. Good to great value. Cat scratch that protects the corner of your sofa. This is a nice way to protect you sofa from having your cats destroy the sofa fabric. It was pretty easy to build and only took less than 10 minutes. The directions are simple but they leave out a few important things. The acrylic bottom base has 4 drilled holes that attach to the wooden post. Make sure you install it correctly. The holes are beveled so that the screw fit flush, otherwise it may scratch or mar your floors. Also, the 4 non-slip pads go on the bottom of the base to prevent it from slipping out. Besides all that it seems to be made very nice. The wood is pine and all the holes are pre-drilled. An Allen wrench is included and that's all you need. I do wish I had this before my cats scratched my sofa. You can see in my pictures how it looks before and after. If can easily be removed if you are having guest and just as easily reattached. I do like this item and if you have cats, this is a "must have" item. ... show more

    • Check the measurements of the wood frame vs your couch before ordering
The pillows of my couch stick out a little further than what most do, I'm assuming from this design, so it didn't work the best for me personally. The kit HEAVILY relies on double sided tape to hold the assembly to your couch. and to hold the carpeted area to the wood. My cat likes it and uses it, but I have to keep messing with it because it doesn't fit my corner as it probably does most couches. Good idea all in all and the product would work on most couches I'd have to imagine. ... show more

Wood seems to be solid & not cheap feeling. It was easy to put together (15 minutes) and instructions, while mostly clear, were missing a few key points: - Planks C/E & D/F are only held together with wooden dowels until the sisal pad is adhered to it. I would have preferred a more "permanent" way to attach those planks together since it makes it a bit tricky to assemble/install. - Pay attention to the plastic base of this item, as it has a correct way to install it. Another reviewer mentioned that they wish the plastic base allowed the screws to sit flush so they're not touching/scratching their floor. (*PSSST* Remove that plastic foot & flip it 180 degrees :) I also checked "Jugglenaut's" storefront & see they sell replacement sisal pads for $10 :) Overall, I'm happy with this item... as are my cats - they took to it right away :) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ... show more

    • Took two minutes to set up.
Wanted to provide some more scratchers for my cat without taking up more of the limited space in my home. Since this scratcher can just slide under the leg of couch, it doesn't take up any more room. Took about a two minutes to set up, just pegs and some screws. I will say, I did not use the bonus adhesive pads that stick the boards to the couch, since I didn't want to potentially damage the couch. I only used the plastic foot under the couch leg to stabilize it, which is fine. Unfortunately, looks like my cat can't even tell it's a scratcher, even when I showed her. I think she prefers the cardboard kind, but this is no fault of the product. ... show more

    • Surprisingly rugged
This was pretty simple to put together, and I was surprised by the “gauge” of sisal the mat has, it’s very rugged. It’s attached to the wood by peel-and-stick velcro strips, which are also wildly strong. The foot is plastic and is quite long so it should fit under the foot of many couches, even angled ones. I’ve always thought something like this should exist without me having to make it from scratch, so I’m glad it finally does! ... show more
