I depend upon a massager due to a musculoskeletal condition. I requre deep pressure to release tight tendons, ligaments and muscles. I have had many over the course of decades. Homedics was a favorite for years. Don't recommend it now due to light product failure (just quits) and too wimpy. It not longer is strong enough to break up muscle tension. Switched to Viktor Jurgon. It is the best for deep tissue of all that I have tried in past several years. I have gone through many and they keep malfunctioning within about 6 months at the cord insertion at base. Perhaps it is just me as I most frequently use it to reach my own back. The cord may get twisted. Tried a cordless - Champion gun. Loved the convenience. Within about 3 months, it stopped holding a charge for longer than about 5 minutes. Wasn't as powerful. Also with one head, you cannot get the muscles on both sides of the spine at once. Have tried several one head. If it is the back you need massaged - two heads is essential. You can feel worse otherwise. This item is 100% identical in body to the Viktor Jurgen. Just tried them side by side. The motor in this model is a little quieter and it isn't as powerful as the Viktor Jurgen. That said, this is still more powerful than anything in similar price points and more powerful than the pricier rechargeable muscle gun that I have. It will probably do the job better than most for the average muscle tension. To give an idea, when I go in for massage, it requires a great deal of strength to loosen up my back muscles - they go in with the elbows. So, if it's just your usual back stuff - out of the box - I think this will work well for you. Cannot say anything about durability.
