The media could not be loaded. I purchased the 12000BTU Mini Split Air Conditioner & Heater, 20 SEER2 115V. The item came in two different boxes on the same day. Both boxes were packaged well and the shipment came much faster than expected via FedEx. The unit has a sleek and modern design that blends well with any room decor. Most of the build quality feels solid, with durable materials used throughout. It includes an indoor unit for air conditioning and heating, an outdoor compressor unit, and a remote control for convenient operation. There are no visible problems with the unit, as I've heard can be found on similar products. The primary reason for choosing this mini split system was its dual functionality—cooling and heating. I currently have a window unit that unfortunately is too loud to do calls or video classes etc, so am looking forward to this unit being much quieter. It should have much higher energy efficiency compared to my older window unit. I don't have any experience with HVAC systems, and so may opt for professional installation. From the manual, the instructions provided seem clear and the install looks like medium difficulty for the typical DIYer. As someone else has noted, the mounting bracket on the back of the indoor wall unit appears to be somewhat flimsy and on this model has holes for mounting to the studs on 12" centers, which is not the US standard of 16". Light weight, easy install, and it works and looks great!! Excellent value for a heat pump. If you are looking for a unit to help support a current system or to cool down an added on room/storage area, this is a good unit for you. I was hoping for a cover for lineset, but they do send a roll of vinyl wrap. This system is very quiet and puts out A LOT of air with the variable speed blower and turbo option. ... show more

    • Broke after one use

I ran it for a couple of hours after installation. It worked great. I turned it on a week later and it no longer worked. It would only blow the fan. It would not get hot or cold with the AC or heat turned on. Now I'm going through the circle jerk of Costway support. Amazon only has a return window of 30 days. It took me longer than that to get it installed. Costway support is like talking to a bot. I'm not sure if I'm chatting with AI, someone using macros, or someone that is heavily scripted. It is frustrating. It seems like their support strategy is to run you in circles until you give up. ... show more

This is probably the second easiest method of getting air conditioning in a home (easiest being a window unit) but for the slightly additional effort - it is the far superior option. From start to finish this took about 2 solid hours to install which given what i am getting - I dont consider that very bad at all. The unit comes in 2 separate boxes and included everything I needed to get it up and going. The hardest part of the install is drilling the hole through your inside wall to the outside to run the coolant and power wires. The instructions were nice helping to walk me through each step of the process. Beyond that - it was a matter of just connecting the power between the units, and connecting the coolant and drainage lines from the inside unit to the outside unit, attaching the gaskets, sealing things up, and hanging the inside unit on the wall making sure it is level and secure. Couple of install tips - for the outdoor unit, I recommend keeping it up off the ground either secured via bracket on your outdoor wall home or on a tall concrete pad. This will prevent debris getting it, or it being as subjected to the weather elements that hit the ground (snow, ice, heavy rain). Things are also easier if with a pre-existing 30 amp 110 outlet or wiring to the planned location for the unit to be installed. I plan to get some conduit to cover up the lines and power running between the units to create a cleaner install. I wish i would have had that before hand, but its a simple fix once it arrives. The unit itself looks nice on the wall with its minimalistic design, and runs very quietly (both the inside and outside units). It blows very cold air and is easy to control, and set target temperature from the included remote control. All in all for the price - this was exactly what my house needed to keep cool this summer. ... show more

First be aware this uses R32 Refridgerant - that's pretty tough (or impossible) to get in the US. However the price is great and as long as you do a good job installing this and TEST FOR LEAKS before charging the system, then you shouldn't have an issue in the lifespan of this AC. I originally had issues with this unit and gave it one-star. I have since completed my troubleshooting and found that the inrush current on this can get up to 30A - this was tripping a GFCI that was inline on the circuit, with how I originally wired this. I have since put in a new dedicated 20A circuit and no issues anymore. I have a large 3600 sf home in Southern Arizona. I got this to condition the room I sleep in. This should save me a lot of money as I can keep the largest portion of the home warm and just cool one room when I come home from work and sleep. So far so good! ... show more
