The product itself is amazing. WOW!! It's 105 deg outside and a chilly 71 inside! I purchased 3 of these units at the same time and have installed 2 so far. I did have some contact with the seller to try to negotiate a shipping discount ( thinking they'd be coming on a freight truck and it surely be cheaper to throw them all on the same truck). They did agree to a $20 per unit discount which is better than expected honestly. They held up their end of our agreement and credited me $60 back after all the units arrived. They arrived in 6 boxes just as the sellersaid they would. The compressors from UPS and air handlers from FedEx. This helps explain the $99 shipping. You only get a tracking number for FedEx though.. so I spent unneeded time trying to track down items I thought were lost in transit but were unknowingly on their way here from a different carrier I was totally unaware of. Having never installed these before I had hired a licensed refrigeration company to install them. The 1st unit was missing a couple small items. The plastic collar, pipe wrap and duct seal putty. Each box was missing 2 or more of these items and the installer claimed he didn't have all the pieces needed for the install and left. After wasting a $150 service call I contacted the seller about the missing items and never did get a response back. I've since learned the guy had what he needed to get them installed and running st least. It's not that big of deal but frustrating. I spent another $50 on Amazon and bought all the stuff that was left out. After my hour of working with the ac guy on the 1st attempt I figured I could do this myself. I purchased a vacuum pump and guage set ( $125 on Amazon). Other than having to drill the lines set holes and running dedicated power from the panel( which isn't required), the unit itself was a very simple install. I've seen several complaints on here about lack of instruction but if you can read, you'll figure it out. Wiring was labeled fine. It was worth every bit of the hassle upgrading from two wall units. I plan to purchase a few more for my basement and work shop in the near future. I'm very impressed with this brand . Even at $99 shipping above the $550 price, it's a great deal . ... show more

I am so glad I went for this unit…. Wow… I am still amazed how the AC & Heat work. It was 93 degrees out and it stayed a steady 68 degrees in my 24x14 man cave!! Believe it or not… I had to keep it on low because I was literally freezing. And I tested the heat out today… it was little chilly in the am .. like 67 degrees outside… I got the heat set to 90 to try it out…. And it really puts out the heat. Best investment ever!!! Only thing is … how can I control this unit without the remote? Should have something on the unit itself. Also be nice if u could use your phone to control it. But over all… I still buy other one if needed. Totally recommend this to anyone!! ... show more

I bought the 17k btu unit for a 3 car garage that I just insulated the attic and doors on and it's great. I wanted the efficiency of the 21 seer so this is why I picked this unit over the 18k. A ton and a half unit like this is made for about 750 sqft, don't rely on their inflated numbers. Takes it about an hour to drop the room 10 degrees and about 2 hours to drop it 20. Works perfect and can be done as a DYI project as long as you install it exactly as the Utube video which you can slow the video down or pause it.,it's not hard to comprehend.,make sure you sealer and tighten the fittings.also before I setup the inside unit I had to unclamp the condensation tube because there was a obstruction and it was condensation loadup and leaking out the front on the carpet.,but that was easy fix.,very cool.,and works well. ... show more

My unit was missing some parts. The tubing is thin, the plastic components seem cheap, the length of the tubing and outside electrical wire connection line are short. No outside mounting are included. The cost to recharge it equals the cost of another unit...and for the cost of having a licensed HVAC installer do it, you can buy three or four more units. The customer service is very good, and seems to allow other than HVAC installer yet still honor warranty. My electrician and I installed it. Really helps to have two people do the job. ... show more

    • Vaccum pump step is misleading

I had my HVAC guy install my system. There was a glitch in the manual and also on the video that recommended a vaccum pump be used. The vaccum ports did not fit a regular vaccum hose line. My HVAC guy looked up the vaccum pump fittings and it was over 350.00. Another thing that was puzzling was that the unit used R32 refrigerant. If you ever need service, look up the price for R32. Very expensive. On the Vacuum Pump step We said screw that step. We Hooked up the system and it has kept our room cool in this 95 to 100 degree weather for this past month. In fact our unit has been set at 73 degrees and it has kept our room cool. So far so good. And the unit is very very quiet. One last thing. I did a “Litmus” test and set the unit to its lowest setting of 60 degrees. In the HVAC world your unit should blow out cold air around 55 degrees. My AC guy said this is one of the better ones he has seen. He can install for another month because the heat is so bad in Florida he is swamped. He said the inside unit is nice because it can cool downs large room and the mini split is perfect for a garage or back room. The outside unit is also self contained and does not need extra parts. The only thing is I have to have another breaker installed so it will run lol. I will post pictures when I have it out and ready. But it was inspected and approved ... show more
