The ventilation on this is really effective, even with the carbon filters. I wasn't quite sure if it would be powerful enough at first but it really surprised us! It has multiple settings for the fan which have a nice variation and isn't too loud. The slim option was true to what it said and it doesn't take up too much space and is lightweight so it can be installed easily. I liked how bright the lights were and power behind the fans. This vent hood is definitely quality and put together nicely. If ordering carbon filters be sure to buy off of the website as Amazon does not carry the right size for the slim option. ... show more

Looks really nice, but it wasn't the easiest to get installed! The guy who helped needed a while to figure out how to convert the wiring from the included plug and cord to a back-wired installation; that worked OK, but when we went to do the ductless conversion, despite ordering a genuine Cosmo CFK4 Filter, it would simply NOT attach the way it was supposed to. Finally in desperation we used some duct tape and simply taped it in place and replaced the screens. Hey, it's working, and for the price, I'm happy. Looks good, works well, quite quiet. The lights are a bit dim, and I don't like the way they are placed at the back; it would have been much better to have them in the middle. But I can live with it. ... show more

I got this Range Hood because our new place didn't have great ventilation in the kitchen. There is only a down-draft vent that did nothing to remove odors or steam/smoke. Moreover, the down-draft being next to the stove meant it sucked the fire towards it as well, making it impossible to cook. This Cosmo Range Hood was a lifesaver. It came with detailed instructions and templates to attach the unit to the wall or under the cabinet. Very easy to install. Would recommend that you get someone professional, but if you are handy enough, it is super simple to install DIY as well. And best of all, it is renter-friendly. It only requires anchor holes in the wall or simply screws to the cabinet. We asked, and our landlords had no problem with wall-mounting, but I bet, a strong command strip with painters tape would work as well too for those who aren't allowed to drill holes in their rented place. Plus, with the ductless odor filter option, we didn't need to rewire the vent pipes or anything. I know ductless hoods have a bad rep, but for us, it worked great. Controls are easy, fans are powerful; we don't even need to use high settings most of the time. And so far, the CFK4 Carbon Filter (sold by Cosmo) is pretty good at eliminating most odors, at least way better than the previous down-draft vent we had. Great product for the price! ... show more

This range hood installed very easily. We are using it as a ductless unit so it needed the caps which were easy to install. Looks great. Having issues with installing the charcoal filter, it does not say which filter is proper, but when you fill out the form for a free filter, it asks which filter do want? I have no idea. You tell me the right one. You have the model number. So frustrating. This recommended filter comes up short for ease of installation. ... show more
