This Cosco car seat is sturdy for my toddler. I purchased it as it’s ideal for travel. This one only weighs 11 lbs but it’s still well made and I was impressed by its safety reviews and the price. We typically use the Chicco OneFit car seat, but it’s much heavier at 25 lbs and definitely not fun to lug around when traveling. This Cosco obviously doesn’t have as much plush padding as the Chicco OneFit, but it’s still good quality and my daughter had no problem sitting in it for hours, never complaining about her bottom hurting. It has a simple thin neoprene seat cover that can be removed and washed as needed and comes with a cup holder. It was easy to re-thread the chest straps to adjust based on her height (came at the lowest setting but she needed it at the middle setting). We do front facing since she’s 40 lbs and it’s sturdy with the Latch system. This is ideal for travel use and occasional use with her grandparents, who have a smaller car. The sides do have a little area for her to prop her head when she falls asleep. Would definitely buy again! ... show more

Easy to install, lightweight and a nice color. Straps are easy to tighten! Cup holder is nice to have. It feels secure and safe. It doesn’t feature the most high quality fabric or cushioning, but expected with the low price. It’s a great second seat when traveling or for grandparents to take in and out. I got this seat for my growing toddler son who is 3 years old. Just because this is a cheaper car seat doesn’t mean it’s not a safe car seat. I choose this car seat after looking through my options for a few days/ weeks. I ended up going with this one through the reviews I read. All car seats are safe! They protect our babies. Purchased this carseat specifically to be our seat for traveling and we also use it as a back-up seat in if we have a guest who needs a seat. I was super impressed at how lightweight it is! We also purchased (separately) a travel car seat bag that you can wear as a backpack and just slip this seat in and wear it while walking through the airport. It’s easy to transport and sturdy, and then super easy to install into any car or even the smallest of rentals or Ubers and it doesn’t take up much space so you can also still fit 2 adults in the backseat of most standard vehicles plus this car seat. Wouldn’t necessarily recommend this seat to be your primary seat for everyday use at home or for a long road trip in your own vehicle due to it may not be the most comfortable seat (I.e. the seat back is very straight and it doesn’t recline or anything fancy) BUT for taking along with you while traveling by air and then using it at your destination, you really can’t beat this one! Plus the price is nice so if it gets broken or lost by the airline, it’s not a huge loss. I recommend gate checking it though, less chance of it getting lost. ... show more
